Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell said Friday she “would love” to be on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee if elected in November.
O’Donnell referenced her desire to join the panel while answering a series of questions from Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren about her policy positions regarding Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
When asked by Van Susteren about the belief held by those such as former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton that Iran will reach nuclear weapons capability, O’Donnell responded, “You know, I don’t know. I don’t have access to the intelligence information that would help make that decision.”
“Perhaps as a U.S. Senator sitting on the Foreign Relations Committee, I will,” she added. “That’s what … I would love that.”
She said there are also those who think Iran is “making threats that aren’t backed up.” She referenced the foreign policy of former President Ronald Reagan. “His foreign policy was summed up in four words – We win, they lose,” she said. “And he did that by not backing down, by not compromising, by strengthening our military and making it once again that the threat of military action, U.S. military action, had some teeth to it. Right now, it doesn’t, and that’s tragic.”
Oh, yeah, I bet she also wants to be the President in another few terms.
The definition of 'win' and 'loose' have changed greatly in the new Internet world. You can no longer declare yourself the winner after loosing 4000 soldiers on a war front. It is no longer a word-smithing and timing issue. Victory is judged by the world at large.
Hillary said it best. The war now is to conquer minds.
