Mass. Sen.: Coakley Agrees to Three More Debates

Democratic nominee Martha Coakley has agreed to three more debates before the Massachusetts Senate special election on Jan. 19, for a total of five debates in general election contest.

Coakley, the state's attorney general and heavy favorite in the race, will join state Sen. Scott Brown, the Republican nominee, in a debates hosted by WTKK radio on Jan. 5, WGBY television on Jan. 8 and the Kennedy Institute on Jan. 11.

The two major party candidates, along with independent candidate Joseph L. Kennedy (no relation to the powerful Kennedy political clan), had their first televised debate Tuesday night in Allston, Mass., which will be broadcast on Sunday morning and Monday night. The three candidates have also participated in a radio debate.

In a release, the Coakley campaign noted that "the five scheduled debates meet or exceed the total number of debates held in recent statewide elections."

More . . .

I am excited about this race and Martha is the odds on favorite to win this thing.  I was so happy she won the Primary.  We worked hard for her.
