I was reading some posts from a figure skating Yahoo group that I subscribe to and was quite surprised to see a reference to the birth certificate issue in the middle of a discussion about the German pairs team's new program.

First, a little background info to set the stage for the discussion. The male half of this pair, Robin Szolkowy, has a German mother and a Tanzanian father who he has never met. When Robin and his partner, Aliona Savcheno, skated their new "Out of Africa" program on TV, the commentators said something about how they chose this music because Robin has always longed to connect with his absentee father. Which inspired the following comments from the fans at my Yahoo group:

Poster #1 wrote:
Was surprised when Tracy said, "there's an interesting story behind the choice of music" and then came up with some convoluted stuff about Robin wanting to reconnect with his African father.

To which Poster #2 replied:
I have it on good authority that he was born in Kenya. Where's the birth certficate? LOL, but seriously folks...

Obviously, Poster #2 has a negative opinion of birthers. But that's beside the point. Obviously, the b.c. issue is no longer some story on the fringe that only a few people are aware of. If it has made its way into a discussion on figure skating, of all things, it means everybody is aware of it.

Wow! If it comes up is a figure skating forum, imagine how many other settings in which this issue is being discussed.

I was thinking this morning that, now that the "true believers" are rapidly finding out that Barry lied to and made complete fools of them, we can encourage the "dupees" to look into his royal liar-ness a bit more this time, and take him down to the mat!  Like Matt Taibi from Rolling Stone magazine, who got it's readers to vote for the fraud.  I would think that a true reporter would relish that kind of thing...

It's weird how these posts show up late.  I didn't notice this as a top post in the Constitution Room until today - my November 8th post has been there for weeks, but this should have been moved up since then, because it's dated November 24th!
