The Johanns Amendment # 2355 to H.R. 3288 passed by a margin of 83 to 7.

Wow!  Great news!

The seven who voted against are the amendment are:

•Dick Durbin (D-IL)
•Roland Burris (D-IL)
•Robert Casey (D-PA)
•Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
•Patrick Leahy (D-VT)
•Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
•Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)

Note, Durbin and Burris from the heart of corruption.

The text of it, as taken from the comment section of http://www.biggovernment.com:

This was an amendment to bill HR 3288 – Appropriations for the Dept. Of Transportation and Housing and Urban Development.

Here is the exact text of the amendment:

SA 2355. Mr. JOHANNS submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him to the bill H.R. 3288, making appropriations for the Departments of Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development, and related agencies for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2010, and for other purposes; which was ordered to lie on the table; as follows:

After section 414, insert the following:

Sec. 4__. None of the funds made available under this Act may be directly or indirectly distributed to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN).

The only name on that list that surprised me is Gillibrand.

Sanders, Mr. Socialist himself and founder of the Congressional Progressive Caucus is no surprise or scumbag Leahy.

This will come up in the election in 2010, if not by a Dem challenger for the Primary then definitely by a Pub challenger.  If she got advice from her staff, she got very very bad advice.

There's already a term being applied to the seven who voted no, courtesy of Jim Geraghty of National Review:

“Who were the seven Child-Whoring Pimp Assistance Program defenders?”

wow.. the only name that really really surprised me is kirsten gillibrand... she is a pretty conservative democrat... if this was a mistake in voting b/c of bad advise from staff.. at least I know she has an incompetent staff.. however.. if this was a genuine No vote on her part.. I have lost pretty much all respect for her.

She was thinking "I need ACORN's rent a crowd and voter fraud/intimidation tactics to help me WIN my Senate seat.  Whatever way she voted, you can be sure Chuckie told her what to do.  He holds that "Blue Dog's" leash.  Sorry, I know she is liked by many - but the nature of NY is only ONE can be top dog, and after HRC left,  that is "where's the camera" Schumer.  She will do what he tells her, that's why he picked her (oh no it was not Paterson - Paterson's a political moron, Schumer walked all over him during that process.)

Good. No defund them all that stimulus money, their current accounts and disband them forever.
