To Lou Dobbs:  Call Hawaii and ask a different question.I really thought my days of commenting on the Obama birth certificate mystery were over. I’ve decided to write about other issues affecting the well-being of my country.  But I can’t let this idiocy pass by.

According to TVNewser, CNN/US President Jon Klein sent an e-mail to Lou Dobbs’ staff instructing them to put a lid on the birth certificate topic:

“It seems this story is dead- because anyone who still is not convinced doesn’t really have a legitimate beef.” Klein asked CNN researchers to dig into the question of why Obama couldn’t produce the original birth certificate. The researchers contacted the Hawaii Health Dept. and confirmed that paper documents were discarded in 2001 when the department went paperless. That reportedly includes Pres. Obama’s original birth certificate.

Are CNN researchers really this obtuse?  The question is not whether the State of Hawaii has a paper copy of Barack Obama’s birth certificate.  The question is this:

What information from Barack Obama’s original long-form birth certificate is on file with the State of Hawaii?

The Certification of Live Birth (COLB) circulated on the Internet is an abstract of a birth record.  The long-form, or original, birth certificate would contain many more fields of information such as name of hospital, parents signatures and addresses, name of delivery doctor, etc.

When I spoke with the Hawaii Dept. of Health in 2008 about birth certificate records, I was told that all of the information from an original long-form birth certificate would be in that person’s file at the Dept. of Health.

Perhaps CNN could ask that question.  Or….Lou Dobbs could hire me?
