This is a very long article.

The Case for Obama

The charges are familiar: He's a compromiser who hasn't stood up to the GOP or Wall Street. But a look at his record reveals something even more startling — a truly historic presidency

========================================

If I went along with the author's perspective, there is a lot to agree with.  Then again, that perspective is that of a close follower...

There are though many facts in there that I agreed with.  This was one of them:

In fact, should Obama secure passage of two new programs he has proposed — $50 billion in infrastructure spending and $200 billion in tax breaks for investments in new equipment — he will have surpassed the $1 trillion stimulus that many liberal economists believed from the beginning was necessary.

Trouble in that trillion dollar stimulus matter is, the infrastructure spending has come out very late in the game... dragging out the recession a bit too much for the market to bear.  The stimulus spend has been trickling down and not really making structural difference. This is a huge issue.  If the infrastructure spending does not make long-term difference, the whole trillion dollar stimulus is a bit of a waste... and it is really sad that infrastructure spend is such a small portion of the spend.

The REAL trouble in all this is, the POTUS has been so out there in that he has not really communicated what he is doing and why in ways to marshall that energy from the nation.  Perhpas he forgot to read Steven Covey. You have to work on both P and PC!  Production and Production Capability... that works at the national level too, it would seem.   Duh!

Like I said, it is a long article.  Do post your specific reactions to specific parts. It is interesting...
