Anyone else notice that Dems are now gaining ground since they have left for their break? At least that is what all the "media" polls are saying and the "journalists" have been touting for the last 4 days.
Are we being set up for another "historic" event with the media again being the major player? Are they prepping for a "historic" Democratic re-election by playing with their polls and hitting us over the head with the results?
This was my biggest fear for awhile now. If the news continued to be bad for the Dems, the media would manufacture it all good for them.
I know I am sounding paranoid, but I just don't trust anything about our political process after 2008.
VH, if you're paranoid, you're not alone. I've wondered the same thing. MSM seems to have lost the trust of some Americans, but they still wield a lot of power, and can shape public opinion easily. Even though some in the media have acknowledged disappointment with Obama, they are still giving him pass after pass.
Obama has certainly not been very concerned about the impact his failed presidency is having on the Dems seeking reelection. This could be because he wants a Pub congress in order to blame them for failures during the last two years of his term, enhancing his chances of reelection. It could be because he just doesn't give a damn. But, what worries me is that his lack of concern may be because the Dems and their co-conspirators the media have a few tricks up their sleeves - like the dirty deals they pulled in 2008 when they stole the nom from Hillary.
We know that neither party is above cheating its way into office. i used to think the Pubs were better at playing fast and loose with election regs., but after 2008, of course, the Dems have emerged as the all time champions of cheating.
My guess is that the spin will accelerate until election day. MSM and the prog blogs will be cranking out slanted, rigged poll numbers showing the Dems making a come back.

Yeah, I think the media is trying to do what they can for the Dems. But it can only go so far, seeing as how these are all local and state elections. There are too many little fires for big media to put out.
One of those "fires" is here in PA which is going big-time RED...both governor and Senate seat. I am ok with the Republican for governor, but the Senate is going to be yet another "hold my nose" vote...if I even bother to vote that category.
