Normally, I have NO sympathy for rich people who hire illegal immigrants. But in this case, the Whitmans went through an agency and did everything they were supposed to do.
Both of Fox's attorneys handed Allred her behind. But here is the thing I am not understanding. Why did the SS department send the letter to the Whitmans rather than the agency that they hired this woman?
Seems to me it is the agency's responsibility since they are the ones that "verified" this woman's status as a legal citizen and presented her as such. I am at a loss on that one.
BTW, both Whitman and Brown bowed out of a radio debate that was to be held today. I understand why Whitman did, but have to wonder if Brown did because he was afraid of getting grilled over the timing of this whole thing by one of his supporters.
And Meg is right. There is no violation of attorney/client privilege to reveal who referred the housekeeper to Allred.
This whole thing smells to high hell. Wake up, California voters. You are being played big-time.
I am not sure I support Whitman, but I don't support this kind of sleaze going on to tip an election.
And Allred's job is to protect her client. How did her exposing this woman do that?
She should be disbarred for unethical behavior.
(and I thank the legal Gods that I work for an ethical firm with ethical attorneys.)
Is there any question that Nikki is beign used as pawn? What would happen to you or I if we got caught giving a fake social security number or false ID to our employer? I will tell you what we would be charged with fraud and identy theft. We wouldn't be on tv crying and sueing over lost wages(23 dollars an hour can I have the job?) after we got fired for lying.
