Clinton says he was wrong on healthcare bill's popularity

Former president Bill Clinton, a champion of healthcare reform, admitted on Sunday that he made the wrong prediction about the popularity of President Obama’s healthcare bill.
"First of all, the benefits of the bill are spread out of three or four years. It takes a long time to implement. And secondly, there has been an enormous and highly effective attack on it,” he said.

"I think he was shocked at the intensity of the Republican opposition," Clinton said. "But they learned from my first two years that, if you just say no, even though people hate it, you get rewarded for it because it discourages the Democrats and it inflames your base. So they're doing just what they did in '93 and '94. And so far it appears that they're being rewarded for it."
The former president said he thought the current commander in chief got "disoriented" for a while, but "I think he is getting his groove back now."
Now, there is a President who knows how to listen to the voice of the nation. But, Mr.President, I think you are being very kind to the current POTUS. Unfortunately, he came into the office a bit 'disoriented' and he just doesnt know how to orient himself nor the nation. That's a bit steep of a troubled place to get out of.
Now, if he knew how to orient himself, he would have completely embracced Hillary's 2008 Health care reform plan - that was far more economical and far more effective way to get a lot more people covered with health insurance a lot faster. So, he would not have been facing the issues he is today with the HCR.
On top of it, he just does not know how to communicate the priorities in a succinct way... and what's the worst thing of all, he is totally disconnected.. and cannot relate to the pain that people are suffering. It is not sufficient to give lipservice - grinning a someone is saying they are not able to make ends meet or that they cannot get a job.... followed with "I feel your pain" is the height of hypocracy that we have seen. Just as I thought I cannot be disappointed more with Pres.Obama, I was today to see his townhall reaction to the lawyer who is unable to pay interest on his law school education.... and the POTUS grins!!!!!!!!!!!
The POTUS is beyond defending at this stage. I dont know that he can reorient himself enough to be able to lead the nation... given his boatload of demerits.

Exactly, Obama came to office in a disoriented state. He was well prepared to assume the title and the benefits that come with being POTUS, but was in no way prepared for the heavy responsibility. Nor was he prepared for the American public to wise up and refuse to fall for his attempts to bamboozel. Obama is about words...just words, and most of those he has to read from a teleprompter. Lightweight does not begin to describe the level of unpreparedness of this man.
Bill had predicted that once the HCR bill was passed, Obama's poll numbers would increase. I think he may have just been exercising tact and discretion. He has to be fully aware that The One is sadly lacking when it comes to understanding the country, the American people, or how to be a leader. That is in no way lost on the Big Dawg. In 2008, He and Hillary warned the country about how unready Obama was. Of course we already knew what the rest of the country is now finally realizing. Some of our fellow citizens aren't very quick to recognize the obvious.
