This election cycle is so reminding me of 1968. No one would have thought Nixon would be the victor that year. But, the antics of the far-left....the protests that included burning college buildings, recruitment centers and of course that lovely display by Daley at the Chicago convention convinced "Joe Average" that enough was enough.
I think that is what is going on right now with tonight's results. The voters are fed up with both parties and are voting anyone that doesn't have hard-core party ties and voting against any candidate where the party "leaders" are trying to bury the other primary candidate...pre-selection by the party bosses on either side seems to be the kiss of death in this election cycle.
And there are two other things the voters are looking at in a major way...did the incumbent vote for healthcare reform and/or cap and trade? If they did, they are doomed.
What these voters are forgetting is the end result of the Nixon adminstration.
Once again, those that don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it.
November is going to rock this country in a way it hasn't been rocked since 1968. "Joe Average" is sending a clear message...we are DONE with the party bosses on both sides who are trying to pre-select the winning candidate.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the official party hack of both sides backlash.
