Democrats have taken an initial step toward limiting the influence of so-called independent superdelegates in choosing the party's presidential nominee in 2012.

A Democratic National Committee panel is recommending a reduction in the number of superdelegates, from 20 percent of the total number of delegates to 15 percent.

How about doing away with them altogether?

While they're rewriting the rules, maybe they should make one that prohibits brow-beating, threatening, and ostracizing SDs who insist on voting for the candidate of their choice, rather than that of the DNC - as happened in 2008.

Maybe they also should consider making a rule that when caucus fraud, voter intimidation, and mass cheating of other forms conducted by a candidate's campaign, said candidate is not to be handed the nomination anyway.

It might be a good idea, as well, for the Dem Party - party of sexists and cheaters - to make a rule prohibiting the removal of votes from one candidate in order to award them to her opponent.

Many more rules are needed to correct the corruption and the violation of democracy that occurred in 2008, but there's one, in particular, I would like to see passed - That Donna Brazille is prohibited from campaigning for a specific candidate on CNN every night, while flat-out lying and claiming to be "undecided" about whom she plans to vote for. I still see that vile woman on CNN making little snide comments about hillary - negative little comments she thought were well disguised in a neutral comment. Word, Donna. You're not that clever. It was clear to everyone that you were so pro-obama. Of course, We PUMAs called you out on your bias and it really pissed you off.

This whole super-delegate thing is courtesy/the legacy of Ted Kennedy.  He made damn sure Obama benefitted from it.

Thanks for a big, fat nothing, Ted.

They might also want to consider  not giving away delegates to  someone who chose not to put their name on the ballot just because.. hello michgan.
