As we were already aware, the Obama Progressives decided some time ago to go after Blanche Lincoln, the more moderate Arkansas encumbent Democrat. Lincoln was a supporter of Hillary Clinton, and is the candidate endorsed by Bill Clinton in this race. The last polls I saw showed Lincoln lagging behind the Republican candidates in the race for nominee. Even if Halter wins the Dem nomination, given the current leanings toward the Republican side, it seems doubtful that he, a progressive, woul stand much of a chance at defeating a Republican challenger.

Regardless, I would certainly like to see Lincoln at least win the Dem Primary - so that the Progressives can experience defeat, and hopefully, get the message that the country has had it with the progressive, including, obama, Pelosi, Reid, and others.

Progressive group raises $100k for Halter

By Eric Zimmermann - 05/04/10 02:34 PM ET

The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) has raised over $100,000 for Arkansas Lt. Gov. Bill Halter (D) in his primary campaign against Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.).

Using the website ActBlue, PCCC has raised $100,932 from a total of 6,276 donors, an average of just about $16 per donation. (PCCC had previously raised another $50,000 for Halter).

PCCC staffers are also helping run Halter's field operation.

"Bill Halter has all the momentum in this race, and we wanted to make sure he had the grassroots operation necessary to capitalize on all that energy,” said Adam Green, a PCCC co-founder. “$100,000 should go a long way toward getting out the vote in the final weeks.”

The primary is two weeks away.
