Several people on this board and at HV wanted me to write my story about how Hillary Clinton inspired me to go clean. This was a very important time in my life. I had wanted to go straight all the way but I had no idea how to do it. I was literally stuck in the game of selling drugs and getting into trouble. That is a whole lot of money to walk away from and its hard.
HMG, Thank you for sharing your personal inspirational story. Touching.
I tried but do not recall that 60 minutes.. was Hillary interviewed in that? I do not recall.
My earliest recollection of Hillary is reading about her when Pres.Bill Clinton was a candidate for Dem; I was doing my homework. I was very impressed by what she had accomplished in Arkansas education system and HOW she accomplished; how she was a consensus builder and involved all key stakeholders in her process. It was a phenomenal example of leadership.
Like you, I hope to see her run for President, and I will gladly help all I can to make it happen.
Thanks again. You should be proud of yourself for conquering your circumstances and winning against all odds. It is stories like yours that remind us to not complain about our circumstances.

The interview was with both her and Bill it was the one when Bill admitted causing pain in his marriage. I have it posted somewhere on either this board or in Hillarysforum.
Thanks for posting this, HMG. You are a strong, brave woman! Here's my comment:
That's an incredible, amazing story. I hope you've let Hillary know how she's helped you. No doubt the world is a richer place with you and your children in it!

HMG - I am glad that you had that turning point when you did, and glad that you acknowledged Hillary as your insipration to change. But I am going to do one better, HMG, you alone are responsible for changing your life as a success, you are the better person, the better woman because you alone made it happen.
It is so easy for young women to get strung out in a ghetto. No I see you not just changing yourself, but your children, your grandchildren, and your community. I think that is part of the Hillary Effect.
You have all my respect for the positive person you are, for eliminating the criminal activities all around you. And for dealing with all those special and unique problems that women face in the ghetto. Difficulites we are all aware of, caring for children, education, job hunting, working, and housing, and heads of households. You took a stand to change your life and those around you. You get the pat on the back!
Often it seems that men are pushed towards success, and we women must pull ourselves through it, and if anyone understands that push and pull, it's Hillary.
You've done a great job, and you are a young woman yet, and your journey is a good one. I, I am privledged to be your friend.

Wonderful story. I agree that however Hillary may have inspired you you did the work! many of my family members have gone the way of drugs and crime and it's always a waste. As I stated before in post awhile ago Bill was the first president I was able to vote for and I did so because of him and his sincerity to help America but also because of Hillary and what it would mean to have her as a first lady someone would speak up and take the road less traveled.
I thank you all for such nice things you have said. I guess I did the work but I needed to be inspired whatever happened that night was life changing. I never had anyone to really look up to when I was younger except for street people Hillary's toughness is what reached me
