Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) — who is one of two doctors in the Senate - was flying home to Oklahoma last week when the flight attendants started asking if there was a doctor on the plane.
Apparently a passenger was having heart problems and needed some assistance.
Coburn went to assist the passenger, his office confirms to POLITICO, which impressed at least one passenger who cooed, "In addition to working to save health care and our national deficit, he can also save people in his spare time!"
"It was Dr. Coburn being Dr. Coburn," spokesman John Hart says.
