Palin Goes After Obama at Tea Party Convention

Sarah Palin goes after the Democratic agenda at the National Tea Party Convention

Feb. 6: Sarah Palin speaks at the first National Tea Party Convention.

The Democratic agenda is "running out of time," former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Saturday at the National Tea Party Convention, claiming that the conservative tea party movement is part of a brewing "revolution" that constitutes the "future of politics."

Palin, who delivered the keynote speech on the closing night of the three-day gathering of conservative activists, aligned herself squarely with the movement, frequently using the word "us" in describing it.

"This is the future of our country. The tea party movement is the future of politics," she said.

The former GOP vice presidential nominee pointed to the room full of activists, as well as the recent election of Republican Scott Brown to U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, as the sign of a political tide change.

"If Scott Brown is any indication, it's running out of time," Palin said of the Democratic agenda.

"It's a ground-up call to action that is forcing both parties to change the way they do business, and that's beautiful."

EXCLUSIVE (Update): Palin's Tea Party Crib Notes

Stefan Sirucek, Independent journalist and foreign correspondent, Posted: February 7, 2010 12:24 AM

UPDATE: (Huffpost Exclusive)

Closer inspection of a photo of Sarah Palin, during a speech in which she mocked President Obama for his use of a teleprompter, reveals several notes written on her left hand. The words "Energy", "Tax" and "Lift American Spirits" are clearly visible. There's also what appears to read as "Budget cuts" with the word Budget crossed out.

Ahh sweet Earl Grey Revolution! Sarah Palin knew that speech like the back of her hand. The Q&A answers, however, were on the front of her hand.

Or so it appeared.

During the Q&A following her speech at the Tea Party Convention, Ms. Palin appeared to read from her hand in answering.

The following image was caught by some sharp-eyed Twitter users, notably @jryanlaw

Crib Notes? This potential presidential candidate and "movement" leader was using crib notes to answer basic questions?

This would mean:

A) That she knew the questions beforehand and the whole thing was a farce. (Likely.)

and

B) That she still couldn't answer the previously agreed-upon questions without a little extra help.

If true, this is supremely rich coming immediately after a speech in which Palin took a shot at President Obama for using a teleprompter to read his prepared speeches.

I had noticed her reading her hand also.  It was really obvious at one point, less so in others.

This morning, on Fox & Friends, they were talking about the writing on her palm. They talked about Gibbs quipping about it.  The guy on FOX & Friends (Steve Doocy) said that Diane Fienstein who in 1990 had written notes on her hand for gubernatorial election and the lady on Fox & Friends (Alisyn Camerota) said that Diane Fienstein lost the election as a result - then there was no further reference to Diane Feinstein writing on palm! LOL.

Karl Rove and Chris Wallace were on the show for this segment.  Chris Wallace looked at his palm and checked imaginery notes before saying a faltering "Good Morning" and then asked Karl Rove, how's Quayle hunting in south Texas.

Posed, isnt this supposed to be a collegial atmosphere? Is is fun or worse?  Then he said he thought some people thought what Gibbs did was funny and some did not; and Chris Wallace thought he was a bit surprised he did that from the podium of the Press room but he 'didnt think it was a big deal.'  Karl thought Gibbs is an arrogant guy, treats press core with disrespect and this is more of the same.

Talk turned towards Iraq.

Later, in closing, Chris Wallace invoked "Quayle" once again!! They all said Quayle from that point onward and laughed a lot.  No further reference to writing on palm!!

Now, that's from Chris Wallace. This is big when Chris Wallace invokes Quayle in the context of writing on palm.
