We knew this wasn't going to end well, but at least WE knew better than to vote for the fraud that is Barack Obama!  And a brainiac like Paul Krugman didn't???

"Obama Liquidates Himself"

by Paul Krugman
New York Times

"A spending freeze? That’s the brilliant response of the Obama team to their first serious political setback?

"It’s appalling on every level.

"It’s bad economics, depressing demand when the economy is still suffering from mass unemployment. Jonathan Zasloff writes that Obama seems to have decided to fire Tim Geithner and replace him with “the rotting corpse of Andrew Mellon” (Mellon was Herbert Hoover’s Treasury Secretary, who according to Hoover told him to “liquidate the workers, liquidate the farmers, purge the rottenness”.)

"It’s bad long-run fiscal policy, shifting attention away from the essential need to reform health care and focusing on small change instead.

"And it’s a betrayal of everything Obama’s supporters thought they were working for. Just like that, Obama has embraced and validated the Republican world-view — and more specifically, he has embraced the policy ideas of the man he defeated in 2008. A correspondent writes, “I feel like an idiot for supporting this guy.”

[snip]"

I haven't gotten a chance to look at the comments yet, but I'm sure they are mostly pure gold.  What an amazing change from just a few months ago!!aww

Although spending is out of control and I can see the need for the freeze.  His supporters are pissed.

WOW! That's quite something coming from Paul Krugman!

I read this paragraph and was amazed at the terseness of the remark.

Now, I still cling to a fantasy: maybe, just possibly, Obama is going to tie his spending freeze to something that would actually help the economy, like an employment tax credit. (No, trivial tax breaks don’t count). There has, however, been no hint of anything like that in the reports so far. Right now, this looks like pure disaster.

This is one of the shortest articles that Paul Krugman has written!

What he is saying overall in the article is that the President needed to stick to the path that he chose because the results have not materialized yet.  Krugman is an economist.

Lots of feedback to the President in the comments. Many of Pres.Obama's followers are big fans of Paul Krugman.  So, the comments are going to be very interesting read.

Well said.

This "freeze" should be sufficient to banish the notion from anyone's noggin that Mr. Obama is an "intelligent" person. As I've stated before, he's a little above average, about where George W. is, only Barack worked harder in school.

No intelligent person would propose [or support] this freeze. Mr. Obama proposed this freeze. Thus, Mr. Obama is not an intelligent person.

Any hope for intelligent policy is extinguished now. Let's look for a new candidate for 2012.

People, you should have voted for the real (proven) FDR Democrat in the primaries instead of jumping on the bandwagon of a media-created empty suit. Next time think before you vote.

Hey, Michael, we had an INTELLIGENT candidate in 2008...it was folks like you that got us this fraud.  Maybe what we need isn't more intelligent candidates, but more intelligent voters.  How did you buy into Obama's rhetoric to begin with?

I don't like Krugman any more than BHO. Economist--bah! But too bad for him; he wasn't smart enough to pick Hillary over BHO. He was cruel to her.
