Disappointed in Sarah Palin Supporter Groups
Permalink

I am seriously disappointed with Palin supporter groups that I visit.

Sometimes, I really wonder if it is possible for Hillary supporters to support Sarah Palin and co-exist with Palin supporters to drive her towards success. They sure know how to make life miserable for those who come with honest good intention of supporting Palin - at the mere mention of Hillary, you are bombarded with trash talk about Hillary without even considering looking at the articles and facts on the table.

They are non-stop hurling "communist" "alinsky" "hate Hillary" even in the face of this book and the sexism it metes out towards Hillary. Going to Sarah / conservative leaning sites has becoming extremely draining because of this constant bashing of Hillary.

How can we make them recognize that the experiences that Hillary has faced are indeed the experiences that Sarah has faced and will continue to face in the next years.  I expect Sarah Palin will face serious opposition from within the party - both overt and covert.  The party people are already writing stuff up about her.

I am almost about to give up going to any of them...   This is a place I came to about mid November once, and it was really disheartening.

They don't care about sexism against Hillary, like Obama they think they are benifiting from it. What the hell are women to do?

Building 4112,

What they do not know is what the difference between supportive of Hillary and not supportive of Hillary can mean in the coming years.

I for one will NOT campaign for any candidate who will not stand up with Hillary when matters like this current book come to fore. That is FINAL.

So, I will be closely watching how Sarah Palin signals her supporters in regard to the book on the table.

I get so tired of defending Hillary against both the left and the right.  None of the Hillary haters met Hillary because if they did they would like her.  Now I just start bashing Ronald Reagan (the right wing) or Barack Obama (the left wing) That usually Pisses them off lol.

sanders, which sites?

I go to conservativespalin.com, they are very respectful, heck I have seen Hillary dems who also support sarah on that site there warn them, if they want to critize hillary on policy, fine... but no freaking sexism!

that's actually the only palin site I go to. Hillbuzz is a hillary site, but they staunchly also support sarah. and they have severely warned all the conservatives/repubs who come on their site, no Clinton Derangement Syndrome, against Hillary!
they have kicked such people out.

so C4P and Hillbuzz both do not allow sexism of Sarah or of Hillary. I dont really visit any other palin sites.

also, sanders, if they are just blogs like wordpress, palin wordpress blog sites, they are probably run and viewed by just one person.  The major Palin sites like C4P and team sarah.org do not allow for any sexism against Hillary. The minor blogs are run by idiots who suffer from clinton deragnement syndrom, I have seen the same for extreme radical liberal sites who suffer from palin dereangement syndrome.  HillBuzz has an example up today... absolutely disgusting.

Yep, One of those sites could not stand to even bear to see a Hillary supporter's post on high ratings for Hillary before bashing Hillary with "communist" and other unkind labels that were irrelevant to the article at hand.  [BTW, seeing your name and Ebinger's name on that site is one of the reasons why I went there in the first place!]

And, the kicker.. I was up front that I am a Hillary supporter.. and the tech person with me a Hillary supporter... and we were ASSURED that there can be a separate forum for Hillary on that site as well, and we only made that "State Department" - more formal, and were only sharing news items.  But these SUPPOSEDLY FORMER HILLARY SUPPORTERS could not take that!!

Once that happened, I left that sites, and then asked for my profile to be changed to Inactive, and I was immediately banned.  Of course, they will not change my profile name/close it even if I do not wish to be associated.

yeah, you notice how HillBuzz is supportive of Sarah Palin?

Show me a few sites that are primarily Sarah Palin sites but are supportive of Hillary.

How about Palin supporters blogging on those bad articles about Hillary... do you see anyone being supportive?

In fact, I would have LOVED to hear Sarah Palin talking to support Hillary in her  taking up the "Game Change" book today.  No, did not come.

I go to a couple of Palin sites.  The mods keep encouraging me to come back and stay, etc.. and I am openly a Hillary supporter on those sites... but I dont push Hillary. I only ask that they do not bash Hillary on those sites.. and that it is good for them to keep people like me around.  Now, dont make it fake either. I would rather they do read and blog on Hillary-bashing articles... but that is not the purpose. I just do not want Hillary bashing BY Palin supporters.

But if that continues..  And, I am watching closely...  May be one of these days, I will just say, enough.

I so agree with everyone's comments. In 2008, we Pumas and other Hillary supporters who would not support Obama agreed to drop the constraints of partisanship, and work for McCain/Palin - ESPECIALLY PALIN. Of course the conservatives welcomed us. We were trying to help their cause. They (including Hannity with the worst case of CDS ever) even managed to suspend the Hillary/Bill hating rhetoric for a few months.

As we recognized that CNN, NBC, and the other networks were part of the conspiracy to steal the nomination from Hillary, many of us became FOX news viewers. We commented on newspaper articles, blogs, and forum about our support of Sarah Palin, about our willingness to put country before party to support McCain. We donated time and money. We campaigned. We participated in phone banks. We worked for the Republican candidates.

It seems that as soon as the election was over, some who welcomed us among their conservative and/or Republican ranks when we could benefit them, turned on a dime, resumed their hate speech, especially about any and all things Clinton. The CDS Fox News had kept in check (to some extent, at least), was back with a vengence. No longer was country before party the guiding principle. The primary focus was on slamming Hillary as much and as often as possible.

Some of us have written to the Repub party, reminding them of the support they could find among PUMAs, if they would reach out, put some of the divisive, hateful speech and actions behind them, and utilize this unusual time in history to strengthen their party and help develop a movement of moderate, reasonable citizens who are genuinely concerned about the country. If they have reached out to us, I'm not aware of it.

The same can be said of Palin's people and of FOX news. By not recognizing the value of making a place for moderate Independents, Dems and former Dems/Pumas at the table, as far as I'm concerned, they weakened their political position. I won't defend Palin anymore - unless it is from sexism, in which case, I will, of course raise my voice and my outrage against those who engage in sexism and misogyny. As far as the defending her as a viable political candidate - I'm sorry, she's on her own, as far as I'm concerned.

Sanders -- HillBuzz is very unique in that way. You are correct I do not see any Palin sites that promote Hillary, but I will repeat again on C4P I have seen conservatives berate other conservatives for bashing Hillary.

That being said, I suspect one of these days HillBuzz will address this, they will have to. Because frankly I really don't think HillBuzz will stand for Palin supporters to want Hilary supporters help and then not condemn the sexist attacks agn Hillary. And seeing how HillBuzz works, I suspect they will do an Open Letter to Conservatives type thing. They have already done one for the conservative to come to blog on Hillbuzz, they have warned if you want to critize Hillary on policy, fine, but no Hillary bashing. I myself warned a couple of posters who kept calling her "Hitlery", HillBuzz deleted those posts, and I suspect probably banned these idiots.

I do support Sarah, and like HillBuzz, these conservatives now know about PUMA, and more importantly they also know the DNC screwed Hillary and supporters of hers, and that while many like me are now Independents, we are very moveable voters, I really don't have a problem if Hillary is critized on issues, just like Palin on issues, but being a hillary supporter who also supports Sarah, I will be pissed if they do not at the very least lay off the sexist bashing of Hillary.

ssmith, exactly!

I hope to see that Open letter to conservatives/Palin supporters REAL SOON.

The current sham book is a fantastic opportunity for women to stand together on the matter of sexism.. and more sourced journalism. If that does not happen, I do not see Hillary supporters helping Sarah in the coming years.

True leadership means standing up for the right things and that includes countering sexism regardless of who is the target.

Amy, EXACTLY!

It is a shame that supposedly neutral sites are not.. and are happy to bash Hillary so easily... especially after having been previously Hillary supporters.

I wish these sites would be forthright about it before inviting people who specifically ask them about the site's leaning towards Hillary supporters.

Now those are former Hillary supporters.. but site infilterated with Palin supporters who hate Hillary.

Then there are Palin supporter sites who received a LOT of us PUMAs who stood with Palin last year.. But the sites are not hospitable to Hillary supporters in ANY WAY.  That I am seriously disappointed with... because the chances of winning without Hillary supporters is zippo to none!!  BESIDES, how about doing the right thing for once!!!  I have battled this for about 3 months in one place and feel really beaten on this... I do not feel there is much hope of the right waking up to the fact that there is ANY sexism in this country... nor to recognizing the true leadership in Hillary.  There is no recognition of what a true leader is... so I am beginning to wonder if there is indeed any real leadership in the person they are following.. or is it only flash...

sanders, I think if you get a chance you should see conservatives4palin.com, there are a good many hillary supporters there, while they support Sarah now, they are very staunch and firm against any sexist bashing of Hillary, and this is on a conservative site.

someone one time even made a comment about Mark Levin calling Hillary "her thighness" and this hillary supporter who is now a palin supporter essentially lashed out at this conservative, and then the other conservatives joined in condemning these sexist bashing.

This whole thing is just getting sorted out, there will many many bumps along the way, but I look at HillBuzz and C4P as the main 2 forces, they are respectful of each others candidate, althought you are correct C4P does not promote Hillary, but nonetheless, they are not tolerant of sexist bashing against her.

Like I say, this will take many a while to sort out. and it will indeed be a very bumpy ride.

I know it's not realistic to expect that Sarah monitor the situation with regard to Hillary bashing and/or other sexism being perpetrated. However, in posting on facebook and other sites, I think it would be very decent of her to acknowledge the support she received from Hillary supporters - and their defense of her against the sexism and rampant misogyny hurled at her. It would be both decent and smart for her to ask that her supporters be respectful in their discourse about Hillary, and that they not tolerate sexist comments. It might cost her a few right wing supporters, but it would gain her a whole lot more moderate female supporters, imo.

I am looking for SP supporter sites where PALIN-SUPPORTERS do not bash Hillary without having to be restrained by Hillary supporters.  I mean where they are enlightened about the nature of umbrella they have to hold not just to win, rather to recognize the larger issues at hand.  There are many issues that are shared and need to be faced together.. And, it cannot be viewed as a zero-sum by the Palin supporters... Unfortunately, I do not see SP supporters even wanting to read a thread about Hillary... so I am slowly but surely withdrawing from SP supporter sites.  This has happened over the past three months... I can say since about third week to end of October, I am increasingly disheartened by the treatment of Hillary as a LEADER on the SP sites.  There is really zero appreciation of the quality of experience that Hillary brings to the table, her accomplishments, nothing is being recognized.. and a lot of tags being tossed in at the mere mention of her name.

Today, at one site, I even tried to share a link to HW thread on Sarah Palin!!  A thread to this site, but the thread was about Sarah. I got ears full for promoting Hillary. Well, the only thing about that thread that was Hillary was the words "hillarysworld" in the words on the thread. Even the title of the article that went with the link said Sarah Palin.. but that did not matter. The people went into a tirade about Hillary and tossed in labels.  I have to say, it is disheartening.

freespirit,  I agree with you completely.

In the absence of that, we look to the followers to see what kind of messages they have consumed/internalized from the silences/body language or other covert messages they have received from their leader.

What the followers of a leader do say a LOT about the nature of leadership.. the messages given/not given by the leader to their followers.  So, I am beginning to impute some characteristics to the leader in question.. from the followers of Sarah Palin... and the news is not good so far especially in the last few months.

As you can see, I am seriously questioning...

Amy,
While this thread was not specifically about one of those sites, my experience in one of them has definitely contributed to the overall assessment.  As I indicated, I have withdrawn fully from one of them.. the other I did not ever join, thankfully.  But I was amazed at the amount of hatred towards Hillary from supposedly former Hillary supporters.   I see they are Sarah Palin supporters.. and I highly doubt such vicious hatred and name-calling is coming from Hillary supporters who claim to have made phonecalls for Hillary but cannot seem to stand her policy positions... well how the hell do you make phonecalls if you do not understand where she stood, for example on cap & trade or on negotiating with Iran?

Again, I am talking more about what are OPENLY Sarah Palin supporter sites where the environment is toxic against Hillary... that I have gone to express support for Sarah Palin, but it has become INTOLERABLE in their total disregard for (a) leadership qualities of Hillary, her experience and her contribution (b) sexism that has dogged this country and Hillary.. as it has and will continue to dog any future run for the office by Sarah Palin.  This is stifling.  And it is rapidly pushing me away.

This site is NOT A SARAH site its an Obama site.  The site is run by Obots they came out on election night at HCF.  Talin and Meggles came out and said they were Obama supporters from the beginning.  They are not Sarah supporters.  They are not Republicans.  My guess is that they are using the two groups of supporters to hurt each other.
They are not Sarah supporters.  They support Obama. Me and Talin got in a big fight and she told me I had anger management problems.  I hate infilitrators.  This is just another Obama site.

100000000000000000000000000000000000000% AGREE

I would add more 0's if I had more space  smile.gif

the thing is she doesn't have to defend Hillary, just like I don't expect Hillary to defend Sarah.  The only thing I want from both is to say we will not tolerate sexist disgusting comments. And I want them both to mean it.

There will always be the lunatics in both camp that cannot be controlled, however both women should be sincere in their view of no sexist bashing.

I like listening to Mark Levin, and I cringe when I hear Hillary being called "her thighness",  although I will admit his is not as bad as the lefy luncatics who call her a "white whore".  But if he just laid off the sexist insults, so many people would like that.

I'm just tired of the sexist bashing, against hillary, against Sarah. Just very very tired of it all.  :(

Amy, I do not know anything about pantsuit place.  I only saw that site once and did not like it for whatever reason. May be I was just happy in HV.

HMG,
I see. No, I did not know that. That is quite interesting information I am just discovering now.

We were told that the person was pro-Hillary and majorly campaigned for Hillary and then "turned neutral on Hillary" and that the site is now "somewhat right-leaning" but that they recognized that given that we are Hillary supporters we would want to start a Hillary forum as we are Hillary supporters. [well, we never hid that I support Hillary]

Myself... Before I even joined, I was given temporary access, went in and looked at member list and saw Amy and Ebinger names. [I did not see many recent posts, but were told that there is massive technical issues and trolls and spams coming in.] I was quickly added into the member roll, etc... I definitely relied on being able to start a Hillary/SoS /State Department forum on that board.

I repeatedly said that Hillary supporters will invariably follow me; they will see my name, my blog post and will come and if the site is not hospitable to Hillary supporters, and if I feel that people in management do not support Hillary, I would not be able to join, as I don't want my friends disappointed. Only after getting assurance on that did I join. But it turned out very quickly into another line of thought. Members bashed Hillary and that never works for Hillary supporters.

I have simply become a lot more cautious about where I am going and who is in management on any site.  I have learned to not trust easily... which is very sad. A trusting life was much easier and happier in many ways... until recently... Sigh...

Everyone is moving in different directions, because there are so many directions to choose from.

I'll always be a Hillary supporter, but I had to turn my back on her when she asked me and my family to vote for O.  I became disappointed in her actions because not only did I send money to her campaign, I organized 5 Hillary rallies and hosted 8 Hillary meet-up groups at my home.  I lost many friends and some family members by not voting democrat and I lost some Hillary supporting friends too because, "I didn't listen to her and vote for O".

Remember, Hillary received more votes during the primaries than any other politician ever.  Even more than Bill.  MORE THAN ANYONE IN HISTORY.  I think there is a lot more to Hillary's story then we will ever know.

Sarah Palin (I like her), will never win over O.  Even my republican friends voted for O because they thought Palin was a nightmare, (thanks to the media she is forever hated by millions).  My step-daughter is a member of a group called, "Women against Sarah Palin".  At first, I tried to convince her that she was brainwashed by the media, but the anger that she displayed toward Sarah and then myself was unbearable.  We haven't spoken to each other in over a year and a half.

I'm still registered as a democrat so that I can continue to bash O within (my so-called), party.  It makes my husband and I feel better knowing that we went with our gut feelings, rather than what Hillary and our party wanted us to do.  So, I can understand why many of her supporters don't trust her.  If Hillary would have said in the beginning of her campaign, "I going to try as hard as I can, but if for some reason I'm not the chosen one, I will ask my supporters to stay with the party and vote for Obama".  Then not one Hillary supporter would have felt disappointment or betrayed.  My husband and I struggle every day with the fact that if if wasn't for Hillary (and Bill), Obama wouldn't be our president.  We all watched as O went on vacation, while Hillary was hitting the campaign trail for HIM!  She worked harder for him than she did her own campaign.

I'm glad that I got a chance to meet her and talk to her.  After all, Hillary was the first lady for 8 years, a New York Senator and the Secretary of State.  I still admire her and Bill, but I don't like the politicians.

I really think we need an Independent for dems and repubs to get behind to get rid of this clown.  If we don't join together, we are going to be stuck with this bozo for years and years.

Destiny, I honestly believe that Hillary and her supporters thought and felt that she was the winner. There was every reason for her to be the winning candidate. She was the candidate with far more experience and far more credibility, global recognition.. The first woman candidate with phenomenal prospects.  What's more in just 8 years, she had become the favorite of NY state from having come into the state as an outsider (well welcomed though). She won our minds and hearts over time by proving herself.. and she totally won us over in the days following 9/11.  She won the Upstate and Central NY areas by her constant visits and undying support.  She toiled and became one of the people like we have never seen another senator become. Hell, I have not even heard of Schumer coming to our neck of the woods.

So, why wouldnt we support and campaign for this leader.

She has been true to her words and principles.  She has been far more conservative than her husband; definitely far more loyal in marriage, in allegiance to the office of the President, and her devotion to the country.

Yet, at every turn, she is ridiculed, and needled with every possible put down.

If she is loyal to her party, it gives an aspect about her that we have to admire as well. I do not like it that it is Pres.Obama in the throne... but she is doing what is right for the country.  And, yes, she is doing what is right for her career as well in the meanwhile.

I have serious doubts about Sarah Palin's ability to open the umbrella fully and engage us Hillary supporters.  The more I think about this, the more I am wondering..  I was disappointed in her appearance on Oreilly today. I got a lot more insight to the same canned words, limited vocabulary and inability to take direct questions.. It is not going to help her.  In the meanwhile, she was posed questions about the book.. and she had the opportunity to open that umbrella a bit wider... and she failed in doing so.  It was her ideal opportunity to not just engage Hillary supporters, rather to show her true leadership in regard to sexism in the media... afterall the book was authored by media men.

Anything good today? I want to end the day on a fun note.  LOL

The bottom line is Palin needs to learn more about policy than TALKING POINTS.  This was, is and will always be Hillary's strength.  She does the homework.

As far as her being in the Obama administration as SOS, I confess I was really ticked off at her for it until I saw this..

You can just see not only the joy, but utter relief of those that work in the State Department that they knew they finally had a COMPETANT leader.

(btw, think you can pick out who her Secret Service protector is?  LOL)
