Excerpt: " You don't see a recognition from national leaders that people have lost confidence in their direction and their tactics.
What you do see: Democratic leaders hellbent on hammering out a final version of this unpopular health care legislation in secret.
And what about Obama's repeated promises of the last two years to televise health care deliberations on C-SPAN "so the American people can see what the choices are"? Sorry, folks. You don't get to watch the next riveting installment of "Where's Mine?" Last month, the CEO of C-SPAN asked Democratic leaders to let the cable outlet televise the deliberations. So far, all he's heard in response is static.
It's a long way to November. Maybe this year won't be a repeat of the Democratic debacle of 1994 or the Republican thumping of 2006. Funny thing about revolutions. They're not usually scripted. " Source link: Full article

This is going to be a very bad year for the democrats, as will 2012 in all likelihood. Some of them (Dodd, Dorgan) are seeing the writing on the wall, but I think other ones are in deep denial (Nelson, Reid). The latter thinks when this passes, voters will magically like the legistlation and appreciate Congress and Obama for knowing the right thing to do.

I think you're exactly right about this ebringer. Either they believe that the public is going to have a magic change of heart, as you said, or they have some kind of secret plan to steal a few more elections like they stole the 2008 primary.
The shift in public opinion away from Obama and the Dems seems so obvious and dramatic, at this point. It's very encouraging to see people in this country actually applying critical thinking skills in evaluating government. After the primary, it seemed that no matter how many negatives came to light about Obama, Americans were not dissuaded from voting for/supporting him. Many of our fellow citizens were driven solely by emotion, and refused to apply logic or utilize factual information about Obama in deciding who would get their votes. Of course, CNN and NBC helped work the public into a fever pitch about Obama, basically acting as his PR team.
In spite of the current anti-Dem/Obama vibe, however, I still am not putting 100% faith in that. People turn on a dime. Much money has crossed the palms of a whole lot of people, and public sentiment can change to favor Obama as quickly as it has turned the other way. We Pumas must actively and with solidarity work influence the upcoming political season.

Here's praying that the Dems get tought a lesson and also that we are not going to ever have to rally around the President. I always wish that because I don't want anything bad like 9/11 to happen again. I think People are going to remember Obama for a long time
