This is about what happened to my daughter on Wednesday November 4, 2009. I am so frustrated dealing with both law enforcement and the schools I don't know where to turn
I'm sorry to hear she had to go through that. What a horrible experience! Please give her our regards, and congratulate her for standing up for herself.
I did try to post a comment - not sure if it made it. Here it is:
It probably drives the boys crazy that Shawntaya is a strong, smart girl. She might want to take a self-defense course, to bolster what you've already taught her. God bless you both!
It's hard enough being the mom of a teenager - this just makes it that much more difficult. She is blessed to have someone who will stand up for her. And if anyone can teach Shawntaya to deal with adversity, it is her strong, smart Mom!!

I can't say it better.
I am so sorry this happened. Your daughter makes me proud. Please let her know that she has all of us with her.
HMG - you need to make sure that the School District has a anti-bully program. If they don't start by speaking out, and use the model schools that have it in place, and have programs that do address the students. Get in contact with them, and see what other parents are doing to stop the bullies.
Shawntaya, and every girl should take self defense class. Call your local police to see if they have a program. Back in June, I helped with a program that was done via the police department, in my local school, it was all day event on a Saturday for girls, and some women, the oldestwas 65 showed up to learn self defense. And the senior girls who help organized it got credit for doing this.
Everyone should call your local School Board to see if they have a anti bullying policy in place. That was the one thing I did as a action in support of the 15 year old girl, I got on the phone to see what my local board was doing. And yes they do have a anti bullying program locally.

That's some serious action, Bldg. You have inspired me to take more action myself!
Hope Shawntaya and you are doing better today, HMG. You are both amazing people, and I'm sure we're all sending every good thought and prayer your way!! (Wish we had a hug icon - I'd post two big hugs!!.)

The school district has a brand new anti bullying program that was supposed to start Friday but they moved it up to Thursday after Shawntaya's assult.
