TPXII Creates Traffic Jam in Los Angeles!

Hello everyone - we just pulled into our rally location in Los Angeles (Griffith Park) and found ourselves running behind. As we got to the roads off the freeway leading to the venue we were noticing that the traffic was bumper-to-bumper and showed no signs of letting up. And then we realized why.

The traffic jam was from the more than 1,000 people who had showed up for the Tea Party Express rally. All the parking spaces in Griffith Park at our venue were taken. The overflow parking lots were filled. And there were streams of cars still trying to get in, but having no place to park.

Conservative Republican Assemblyman Chuck DeVore just spoke. He is running against Sen. Barbara Boxer (Liberal-Democrat) and is one of the "good guys." The GOP establishment is trying to woo Carly Fiorina (former HP executive) to run. But she represents more of the same - politicians who believe in power and 'going along to getting along.' We're so excited to see Chuck DeVore passionately articulating a strong, conservative message - and the crowds love him!




Now speaking is Peter Foy of Americans for Prosperity. He was one of the leaders in the campaign to Defeat Prop 1A which was a giant tax increase ballot measure here in California. Again, this is someone who walked the walk - and didn't just talk the talk.

I'm glad for the success of any event to protest Obama's destructive policies, but I am no fan of the "good conservative" rhetoric. I loved the pics and glad you posted.

I agree with you, that is why we have kept our democrat statics.  But, we have been to 4 tea parties so far and there is an amazing amount of dems and indys at these tea parties.  In fact, I organized a tea party on 4/11/09 and we were all dems.  ABC news (in Los Angeles) sent a camera man to interview us and on their 5:00PM news broadcast, they said we were "Republicans".  So, I called the station and told them that we were Democrats and they apologized to me and on their 6:00 news they said that we were a "spirited group of Democrats".  They never said, "we are so sorry to have called these nice people out there protesting against the president, Republicans, we just found out that this nice group of people are actually, Democrats".  No, they just changed their 'voice over' with the same footage (they showed at their 5:00 broadcast) to say that we were "Spirited" Democrats!  This is why you can NEVER trust what you hear (or see) on the news. NEVER!
Some of the other groups at these tea parties have been "End The Fed" and the o-joker's lack of eligibility, etc.
These are patriotic people who know our American history and our US Constitution.
I always feel a little dumb at these gatherings because of their incredible knowledge.
It's like spending a day with a bunch of historians who love this country.
