Lusting after Tyranny
by Kathryn Jean Lopez

Thomas Friedman is a national embarrassment.  Some evidence below.

Worth reading, if you haven't: Thomas Friedman vs. liberty, a continuing Corner series:

Steyn: Friedman and The Enlightened Elite: The Firm Hand of the Benign Strongman
Tom Friedman finally gets to where he’s been wanting to go all these years

Steyn II: Thomas Friedman's Bondage Fetish
What's even weirder about Friedman's valentine to the Politburo is that on his big bugbear — "climate change" — the Chinese have explicitly rejected the cap-&-trade/emissions reduction regime he urges upon us.

Goldberg: Thomas Friedman is a Liberal Fascist
Friedman lives in a liberal democracy but has his nose pressed up against the candy store window of a cruel, undemocratic, regime and all he can do is drool over the prospect of having the same power here.

Goldberg II: More on Friedman’s Enlightened Despots
I just find the idea that China is a great environmental steward absurd beyond ken (or barbie).

Goldberg III: Steyn, You Addlepated Antediluvian
You just don't get it. China banned plastic bags, man. P-l-a-s-t-i-c b-a-gs. Gone, with the single enlightened stroke of a pen.

VDH Weighs In: At Least China's Trains Run on Time?
What is strange about this praise of one-party Chinese autocracy is the historical amnesia.

And here is the Thomas Friedman article that started all the fuss:
Our One-Party Democracy
