IN THE NAME OF ALLAH....The objective of this gathering is to invite the Muslim Communities and friends of Islam to express and illustrate the wonderful diversity of Islam. We intend to manifest Islam's majestic spiritual principals as revealed by Allah to our beloved prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) of Arabia. Likewise; we intend to inspire a new generation of Muslim to work for the greater good of all people. We shall serve all people, regardless of race, religion or national origin.ON THIS DAY....The Athan will be chanted on Capitol Hill, echoing off of the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other great edifices that surround Capitol Hill
Thousands of Muslims from all races, creeds, colors and ethnicities will gather for the sole purpose of prayer
Bonds of friendship will be formed between those in attendance, both Muslims and Non-Muslims
Muslim youth will experience tours of the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court.
The peace, beauty and solidarity of Islam will shine through America's capitol.
All people come from the same place, I think. But Islam is a religion that falls far short of tolerant, peaceful religions. I wonder how many Muslims - bless their hearts - are familiar with the violent and hateful tenets of the Koran, and stay involved anyway, and how many AREN'T familiar, but stay because it is tradition or because they're afraid to leave.
We must pray for these precious ones, that their hearts be cleansed and their eyes opened. We should pray the same for ourselves and everyone!

Like most people, I believe in religious tolerance. But when it comes to Islam, it's just hard to be tolerant. Maybe it's the islamic theocracies of the world that would love to kill us in our sleep. Maybe it's that women are treated as property, at best, and sub-human, at worst. Maybe it's 9/11. I guess it's all of the above. I know that not all Muslims are fundamentalist, America hating terrorists. But I'm sorry, I just don't think the peace loving ones could protect us against the radical ones who hate us. As far as reaching peaceful relations with the radical Muslim world, it would be nice, of course. Obama has, of course, made some efforts to reach out to them - and by "reach out". I mean Apologize for America and refuse to condemn the Iranian government's abuse of the protesters following the rigged presidential elections. The problem is - when the other group essentially hates our guts, there just ain't a whole lot to build on.

Well isn't this interesting. I am tolerant of others religions but afthis close to 9/11 its hard for me to be so tolerant. I mean its going to take a while for us to get over 9/11.
