Independents are leaving the democrats in droves threatening the 2010 elections.  I smell a republican take over.

What's going on? While political analysts were fixated on last fall's campaign and on Obama's victory, inauguration, and first 100 days in office, two other dynamics were developing. First, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression scared many voters, making them worry about their future and that of their children and grandchildren. And the federal government's failure to prevent that calamity fundamentally undermined the public's already low confidence in government's ability to solve problems. Washington's unprecedented levels of intervention -- at the end of Bush's presidency and the start of Obama's -- into the private sector further unnerved the skittish public. People didn't mind that the head of General Motors got fired. What frightened folks was that it was the federal government doing the firing.

This paragraph is spot on.  While MSM, the Dem Party, and especially the Obamas were behaving as if they had just won the lottery, and where off on some self-congratulatory retreat, the economy was tanking.  Obama's solution - to further bankrupt us - was a real wake-up call for some.  Then the bail outs continued and the take-overs began.  Not only was it shocking for the federal gov't to fire the employee of a private company, but then to take it over - OMG.  Comrade Obama really pissed in the corn flakes with that move.

Obama's only goal was being elected - the recognition, fame, gratification that accompanied his win were his primary focus.  So many mistakes were made - and are still being made.  I really think the Dems thought  Obama could get away with anything he wanted to do.  After all, he had certainly fooled everyone during the election - or so they thought - with the help of the DNC and MSM.

They underestimated the people of this country - At some point, Americans decided to fight for America.  Thank heaven.
