Rep. Pence calls on Van Jones to resign (Politico 9/4/09)

Rep. Mike Pence, the no. 3 Republican in the House, is calling on Obama green jobs czar Van Jones to resign.

This sort of thing would usually be laughed off by Democrats -- a conservative Republican telling a Democratic appointee to quit.

But the Obama team isn't exactly jumping to back Jones today in wake of revelations that in the past he signed on to one of the "truther" groups that claimed 9/11 was an inside job. Oh, and he called Republicans a**holes in a video earlier this year before he was appointed.

"Given recent revelations concerning the associations and statements of the president's green jobs czar, Van Jones should resign his position and if he is unwilling to do so, the president should demand his resignation. His extremist views and coarse rhetoric have no place in this Administration or the public debate," Pence said. "The Constitution of the United States vests Congress with the responsibility to advise and consent in the appointment of high ranking officials by the president. To date, President Obama has appointed more than thirty individuals to ‘czar’ positions within his Administration without permitting the Congress or the American people to properly examine their backgrounds or public records."

Mike Pence represents my state, and I really like him. He's not afraid to jump in say what has to be done. And, if I was 20 or 25 years younger?? (That's as far as I'll go on age)...lol

This Van Jones is one big piece of a radical and more of this creature is being found out every day. Does anyone question how and why this information is coming streaming out? Yes, Beck started it, Brietbart sent him info... but how did they get it? hummmm

KB, I know . . . I was wondering the same thing!  Who sent this to Brietbart?

And, there are more czars out there just as radical!

Do you get the Tweets from Glenn?  He wants people to research CASS SUNSTEIN, MARK LLOYD AND CAROL BROWNER . . . burn items to cd and, then send him the link.

The whole czar thing needs to be challenged. Obviously, some extra personnel would not be unusual. But this seems to be a deliberate effort to get congressional input. If he's got people working for him, in important positions, who could not pass congressional review, that should be a huge concern, IMO.

Little by little, people are becoming increasingly brave in calling O out. For too long, even the Repubs were afraid to raise many concerns about his actions. And little wonder, given MSM's position as Obama's official cheer -leading group, along with accusations of racism, thrown in the face of anyone who dared criticize The Fraud. The more people speak out, the easier it will become for others to do so.

I know Beck is doing a lot to expose some of Obama's Outrages. However, I hope he'll moderate his tone a little. Not that I don't agree with him, but In watching Beck and Hannity I've noticed that they rarely talk of anything else. Obviously, there's much material to cover, and they do raise good points. But, I worry that the public will begin to feel it's "over-kill" If that happens, the moderates on both sides may begin to back away from them and their message. JMHO.

I think the climate is such that people are refreshed by an aggressive attitude, as long as it is reasonable.  And considering what we've seen of this "administration," and I use that term loosely, I say "Release the hounds (like Glenn and Sean - if they're man enough)!"

Under normal circumstances I would tend to agree. However, this is URGENT!!!

I think the tone is as it is because they see and are honestly scared. We have seen how deceptive this WH is and how much damage they've done in just 6 months. Imagine what they could do in six more if the people weren't beginning to wake-up. I think what they've done and are doing is to expose the truth but also shock people in to waking-up, asking questions, and not being afraid to use their voices.

K Wayne and Alex, I do agree, this is urgent and it's way past time to let the public know. You guys may be right, I certainly hope so because no one else in television news is telling the truth about Obama. I just think that the average American knows so little about Obama, that the info being released by Beck and Hannity may seem too unreal to them. It's not as great a shock to us because we have known what Obama was about from day one. We've done the research. My concern comes from the fact that I frequently hear people refer to Beck as a "nut", primarily, I think, because he has taken such a pro-active position, that I guess, to some, he seems kind of "fringe". I hope that most of the public sees it as you do. I agree totally that these outrages need to be reported, and I guess the reality is there's no other way to bring the message to the people. I only hope they'll listen and believe.
