As we watch our rights and freedoms erode under the Obama administration, it becomes increasingly obvious that we have much to do.  It's not the big, obvious, overt acts that will destroy our country.  The greater threat comes from the multitude of small steps that have been taken and continue to be taken by the administration.  We have a shadow government - with no accountability to the people who pay them.  We have MSM guarding Obama - not democracy.  Our comments are being monitored for "fishiness", and reported to Obam's watch dogs.  Many steps are being taken to erode the freedoms, rights, and the way of life Americans have fought to preserve.  We all know people who have died in that pursuit.  We know those whose bodies or minds have been weakened, injured, or disabled in  battle.  There is so much to do.

Many Americans, many of our relatives, friends, neighbors are unaware of the dirty dealing that was done to steal the nomination for Obama, or to get him elected.  Many don't know what's happening to their futures at the hands of this administration.

BUT - DAMN IT.  WE KNOW.  We were there when the DNC took Hillalry's votes for their chosen one - and we fought back.  We saw the media bias and the sexism they leveled against Hillary, and, by damn, we protested.  We fought our own party in Denver.  We wrote letters.  In our outrage, our refusal to back down, our determination to do the right thing, we formed new groups, we networked, we participated in forums, we blogged, we worked our butts off.  Out of our fighting spirit PUMA  was born.  When NOW turned a blind eye to sexism and misogyny hurled at Hillary, The New Agenda was created.  Many online sites and groups dedicated to our fight sprang up almost over-night.

We KNEW it was time for action, and ACT WE DID.  We fought against corruption.  We loudly condemned media bias, and demanded fair and honest reporting.  We resolved to fight for ALL women to ensure their basic civil and human rights.  We mobilized and worked.

After the election, our vision, resolve, and determination to continue to work to right the wrongs that occurred did not weaken.  They remained as strong as ever.  We organized and reorganized, as groups changed in their focus, but we continued.  We knew if we didn't apply the lessons learned in 2008, and continue working, nothing would ever get better.

At some point, the goals we embraced became secondary - to some people.  Personalities and egos became more important than working for the greater good.  The need for recognition, control, personal gratification, and who knows what else became the driving force of some, and the real reason we organized and fought so hard in the first place, were obscured.

In spite of that, most of us still understand that  the goals and ideals for which we have fought and continue to fight are primary.  We may disagree with a fellow fighter on some points - so be it.  That doesn't have to derail our efforts.  We may get our feelings hurt - so what.  We'll deal with it.  We are strong, smart, and determined adults.  Many of us are women, who have dealt with worse.  Some are African Americans or people of other ethnic minorities who have certainly endured and risen above much more than some online argument.

As long as debate and disagreement are open and  honest, we can only be strengthened by them.  But, when there is duplicity, when the fight is dirty and dishonest, we become weak.  When it becomes necessary to spend more time watching our backs than looking ahead to the future, our effort is damaged.

When I first became a Hillary support, I had never participated in a forum, rarely responded to a blog article or an online news site.  I had never reached out to people in cyberspace in a joint effort of like minded people.  But, when I did, it was so gratifying to be fighting along side people who were so committed and dedicated.  I found strong, smart, fearless women who knew it was time for this country to elect a woman - and Hillary Clinton was that woman.  I encountered bright, insightful men were secure  and grounded enough to support women, and to fight for Hillary.

Being from a very conservative area, I found few people offline who shared my views or who were willing to fight like hell for them.  But I found plenty of them online.  You guys and others on other PUMA and PUMA - type sites have been my salvation during these months during and since the primary.  We all felt the hope before the sham of a primary.  We all felt the hurt at what our party did.  We all experienced outrage for which we could not find an outlet - until we organized and resolved to channel that anger, hurt, disappointment and fear into a noble, honest, worthwhile effort to fight like hell to right the wrongs that happened in 2008.

I STILL PLAN TO FIGHT.  I refuse to allow online efforts to sabotage or to weaken stop me from pursuing the causes that I know, with more certainty than I've felt about many other things, are right, honest, and necessary.

I resolve to continue to support equal rights for women.  I resolve to continue to fight against a media who have abandoned ethics and sold their souls to further their candidate.  I will continue to support Hillary Clinton in every way I can, because in the mistreatment of her, the media, the DNC, and Obama mistreated me and my daughter.  In stealing the nomination and the presidency from her, they hurt my family, my friends, and my country.  In refusing to allow the votes of 18 million people count as intended, they assaulted democracy.

I hope that everyone who still feels strongly that we have a moral imperative to continue our fight will renew their resolve, as well. And when those who are not serious about democracy, women's rights, free and fair elections, and fighting corruption try to create obstacles and barriers, when they try to pit us against each other, when they demonstrate their disregard for the beliefs we cherish and fight for, please DON"T LET THEM DISTRACT or DISCOURAGE.

We've got important work to do.  I'm ready to ignore the distractions and GET ON WITH IT.

freespirit, I'm with you 100%.  This country needs every patriot's help to bring it back to the United State of America we once knew.

Freespirit,

I agree 100%.

For me, I have grown so much over the last year.  Before February of last year, I was contented to listen to CNN and call Fox News evil . . . wow, what a difference a year makes . . . I feel the exact opposite now.  I became increasingly disgusted with CNN and their horrible comments about Hillary, so I went in search of support for Hillary.  I had never blogged or joined a forum, nor commented on anything on the Internet.  I tried out forum after forum, seeking like-minded individuals who were not on the "kool-aid".  Finally, I found HCF and a home with members who took me in.  Everyone was kind and supportive.  And, we had a common goal and we worked hard for it.

I want to get that energy back.  Yes, we will disagree at times, so be it . . . it happens.  But, we are muture adults and can rise above it and move on.  We all come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, so we all may see things differently.  We are human.

What has been happening is a distraction.  Our country is at a pivot point in history.  We have done our homework.  We already knew what some are just now discovering.  Our only source of real news is Fox News and they are trying.  Many of the things we had already discovered are now being brought out by them.  I just wish they had done the same "homework" sooner, but that is "water over the bridge" now.  We move on from where we are at now.

And, yes, I am very concerned, too, that many of our friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. are unaware of what is transpiring within our own borders.  I visited another area recently and it was as if I was in another world.  It gave me food for thought.  People need to realize what is happening, before it is too late.

We need to focus and not be distracted.  We need to get back to who we were . . . an action oriented, get out the word, and top-of-the line research machine.

Our country is being transformed and I want it back!
