NY suffrage leader's home to become museum Associated Press - August 26, 2009 9:05 AM ETFAYETTEVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - A local foundation is transforming the home of 19th-century women's right leader Matilda Joslyn Gage into a museum and learning center.Gage's suburban Syracuse home - once a stop on the Underground Railroad - will eventually be part of the National Park Service's proposed "Votes for Women" trail and New York State's Women's Heritage Trail. It's already included in the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Trail.Gage lived in Fayetteville for 44 years and worked alongside Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton to secure women's right to vote.Gage was the mother-in-law of Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum.
