Hillary Calling Out a Question Gets More Coverage than Women Being Murdered

Where is the outrage over those women who were shot down in their exercise class just because they are women??? Maybe Hillary's reaction to seeing the horrible conditions of those women in the Congo who are used as nothing more than fodder for rape and torture was appropriate given all she had to see and the LACK of concern about it around the world. Frankly sometimes I wonder how it is that all women are not perpetually outraged given how very clear it is that their lives mean zero to our press and our culture seems fine with this situation.

No the "real news" is that Hillary despite ALL her other important work snipped at a question. Rahm Emmanuel yells and screams and no one notices. It's not mainstream news alllll day and used to say how he's throwing a tantrum because he stands in the shadows of Obama and always has.

This reporting is pure misogyny at its finest. At its finest.

It's cowardly, it's manipulative, and it ignores real womens issues around the world and Hillary's very important work. I'm about convinced that what is going on with gender in the U.S. is all but a lost cause. The Beverly Hillbillies were more advanced than our current media and the public opinion it goes along with.

Hate crimes are going on and gender is still left out of any legislative language while every other group is included.

Bottom line? It's not interesting if we are dying, it's only interesting if someone stands up and says something in a manner "unbeccoming" a "female"

How does the world think women feel seeing Hillary's work ignored while she's held to ten times the standard of a male. How do they think it feels knowing that it's a NON story when women are murdered but, it's an embarassment of riches when a woman says one peep out of line about anything to do with an insult to gender after having spent the entire day listening to stories of rape and torture from vicitims?

Grow up America. This isn't a frat house, it's about doing the right thing for the country not being titillated into heights of hysteria over nothing.

Covering Hillary's reaction to a mistranslated question doesn't make Obama look bad, but talking about women being murdered would.

I don't know about how much the gym murders are being covered by the national press because the biggest story here is the gym murders because it happened here its a local story.  The media seem to do the same thing to women that they do to people from the hood. Cover it up.

It happened during a time that "Beer Gate" was all the rage in the press. They should be up in arms alright...but, not about beergate and certainly they should not be spending their time on some response Hillary gave in the Congo given how important ALL HER OTHER WORK THERE IS.

What if the head line was?

"Hillary is edgy after a day of reaching out to rape victims in the Congo?"

Then perhaps a story to highlight those women and why ANY woman having to step into that situation and deal with the horrors there might have wanted to speak up at that moment. Perhaps she set an example to those people in the Congo who feel the systemic rape of women and girls is simply an acceptable part of their culture. She spoke up, she was "uppity" MAYBE that has an influence on those who are so downtrodden there they have no voice at all.

See, there are a ton of ways to spin a story...a ton of ways that would have lifted women instead of ripping them down again. But our press is so submerged in their OWN misogyny they cannot and will not see that what they are doing and the way they are covering things is HARMFUL to the image of strong women everywhere.

So basically once again they can bite me.

Yes, exactly. If he really were an agent of change he'd step up right now and use this as a "teachable moment" as his pal Oprah so often likes to say. But no...he's silent..he says nothing. It favors the snake.

The issue in the Congo that was brought up over and over and for so long now has needed a spotlight is the suffering of those women. Hillary brought that issue to the fore. The media and Obama should NOT be letting that message get lost in a sea of tripe.

Again, the press misses the point entirely.

Even if the interpreter really did screw up the question as they are saying and meant to say president obama (and I don't believe for a second that the interpreter did screw up), the point was a woman in a position of power was being marginalized by a sexist jerk who chose to do it by asking her not what SHE thought, but what a MAN thought, because a male's opinion was more important to him than a woman's.

This on the heels of the meager coverage of how women are treated in that country - like animals - and what that man did was purely sexist and degrading, so Hillary let him have it because that behavior is not acceptable.

And that should be the story - that Hillary stuck up for women everywhere who walk in a man's shadow.

Go Alice! I am frankly tired of violence against women not being newsworthy but the media loves to hate on Hillary and if she says anything controversial it is like crack to these media asshats.

The lady was exhausted. Okay, maybe it wasn't her best moment, but you could see how tierd she was. BHO and Rahm keep sending her all over the world on trip after trip and I believe it's on purpose.

I don't think Rice traveled like she does.

If they are doing that its so that she takes some of the spotlight from a struggling Barry O.
