Hillary Clinton says running for office isn't on her "radar," but she still has an eight-person political team and sports two overflowing campaign war chests.
Her team transformed the former Democratic White House contender's massive campaign debts into a $3 million mountain of political cash, according to federal fund-raising records through the end of June.

Well? What do y'all think of that? For me, this article take me back to this time last year, when we were all scrambling to pay off Hillary's campaign debt. And now she's got extra $$$ and people are still contributing when she isn't running for office? Hmmm, makes me wonder...

WASHINGTON - Hillary Clinton says running for office isn't on her "radar," but she still has an eight-person political team and sports two overflowing campaign war chests.

Her team transformed the former Democratic White House contender's massive campaign debts into a $3 million mountain of political cash, according to federal fund-raising records through the end of June.

Clinton's failed presidential bid is now $1 million in the black, and her old Senate campaign committee has $2.1 million in the bank, much of it transferred in from the presidential account.

The former First Lady paid eight staffers nearly $100,000 in the second quarter of the year to tend to the remains of her political empire.

She officially pulled out of the political arena in January when she became secretary of state. But Clinton's campaign Web site continues to accept contributions.

Democratic operatives were surprised at the size of the operation. "She's got eight?" said one Democrat. "Can I get a job there?"

By comparison, Sen. Chuck Schumer, who is up for reelection next year, had just three people on staff last quarter.

One of Clinton's remaining campaign workers said they were just there to wind down what was essentially a $250 million business, and would soon cut staff to five people.

The worker noted John Kerry didn't terminate his 2004 White House campaign for more than three years after he lost.

The aide also said Team Clinton is looking to liquidate her presidential bank account, either by giving the money to other candidates or donating it to charity.

Clinton is adamant she's not running for anything, telling a Thai TV station recently, "That's not anything that is at all on my radar screen." And she told ABC News on Sunday, "I'm out of politics."

But analysts said as long as Clinton has a campaign committee with millions of dollars in it - dormant or not - she has weight in the political world.

"It raises questions about that nascent presidential campaign for 2016 - and she didn't close the door on that, if you read her remarks carefully," said the University of Virginia's Larry Sabato.

"Just having the committee and the money gives her political clout, if she ever needs it," Sabato said.

A former Clinton senior campaign aide told the Daily News that her current job running the State Department would position her perfectly for a White House campaign redux.

"It answers the last question about her: can she run something?" the aide said. "And it's a huge platform."

Hard to know what to make of this article.  On the one hand, there's plenty of Obots looking to dump on Hillary and especially question her loyalty - and what better way to question her loyalty than to say she is in campaign mode?

On the other hand, I definitely like the idea of her having access to her own political funds, especially if she ever does have a falling out with Obama.  She could easily run for Governor of New York, and probably win, and wouldn't have to announce anything until some time in 2010 even if she was going to do so.  And then she's got that executive experience thing nailed down.

It could help her in 2012 or more likely 2016, because I just can't imagine a scenario where she runs against Obama in 2012 and wins.

Why is it that if she wants to be president one day she is being "disloyal" YET Obama asked Hillary to campaign for him when he ran for Senate and she helped him...at that time he said he wasn't running and DID but, THAT wasn't "disloyal" She can run for president if she wants to and the Obama apologists pretzel logic will call her disloyal and anything else they can think of one way or the other whether it's a "fact" or not.

First, thanks for the invite Saunders.

I am so glad Hillary is out of DEBT...and now in the black.  Yes, I do believe she will make another run.

My concern though is whether we all are ready?  We HAVE to start respecting each other and our differences just as HILLARY does or she doesn't have a chance.  We have to knock off the devisiness that has occurred between her supporters since 6/7/08.

Energy is best spent on planning for our FIRST FEMALE POTUS...and not on petty bickering.

Keep the BIG PICTURE in focus.  The nation is counting on us....come 2016?  HELL NO...come 2012!

They know she is the one with the most potential and the closest reach to White House... and they want to find every fault they possibly can. EXCEPT, it is getting a little bit ridiculous, and is reflecting very poorly on the neigh-sayers.

There is a point at which the negativity speaks more loudly of the hack jobs than the target.

Opponents abound from both GOP and DNP sides.. and if Obama's ratings continue to slide downward, GOP will have Hillary to fight on the ticket..... The pressure is from all sides.

The media figures as long as they beat up on a prominent female figure they have done their job for the day. Cop out!! This shows that the media pundits are sitting on their duff and not doing any fundamental research. They are beating the same old story.

The real villain is the media for not doing justice to the many wins and the complete resilience both physically and emotionally that our leader Hillary Rodham Clinton has shown in the last year.

The truth is she is debt free and in the black (notice anyone, BLACK used in positive sense.. people dont notice when it is positive) and with a campaign office just yards from the WH and from Foggy Bottom. Her #1 Assistant Huma is getting married (enough rumors already!) and all those speculations about "Can she or can she not do the SoS job.. under... inspite of ... " is all forgotten.

It would be WRONG to not elect her to White House. That would be the PROOF that this country does not provide EQUAL ground for qualified women. I am talking beyond aspiration here.. We can no longer question her competence. This is not just PROVEN EXPERIENCE and POTENTIAL. She is the daily "in-your-face" proof to the media that they got it wrong. And that is a bit of a bitter pill for the MSM.

Get over it MSM/AP! The sooner you embrace the qualified leader, the better your reputation for fair and equitable coverage.

When O-ineligible tanks, Hillary will step in, or she will win outright in 2012!!

I’ve been to FreeRepublic a few times, and seen posts like, “Hillary would have been so much better!” smile.gif.

That's saying something.
Hillary is going to run and she is going to be the best President. She is intelligent, funny, knows all classes and races of people. Besides its time for a woman to get in there. I prefer it be our girl.

We worked so hard before, and we can do it again. One thing for sure, her foreign policy can't be denied. No more ridicule of just tea parties with foreign spouses.

If she decide to run, I hope her choice of campaign leaders would be a dynamite group.

She'll let us know when she's ready! When the smoke signals come out of the village chimney, my sign and tee shirts (well-preserved) are ready too!

Oh you and me both. I'm SO glad so many of us have wanted Hillary as the first woman POTUS for so long. I knew she was the one along about 1983 or 84. Her work in Arkansas a lot of which people don't know about because she never did play it up or grandstand...was simply stellar, caring, diligent and she won over a ton of people who set out against her at first. They saw who she really is and admired her in the end by her sheer determination to prove she really would do as she promised each of them.

Nobody else has come along to my mind that even comes close to her.

Where do I start to donate...because I'm more than ready for her leadership..this country needs her and will need her more than ever by the time she decides to run again.

One thing about this is that if the dems want to keep the White House she is the ONLY hope they have after Obama because they do NOT have anyone else with her clout and appeal on their roster. They will HAVE to get behind her this time though they certainly have handed her hell and high water to try and run after Obama who will screw up the country. Americans will want the republicans to win after Obama messes everything up sooo badly so she's going to need and will deserve their FULL support.

I will not vote next time if they throw up some newby again. I will not do it. I voted republican to throw a wrench to the dems this time, but I won't vote republican again...maybe some third party ticket if she doesn't go for it...and until she DOES go for it, I'll vote against them one way or the other.

The republican ticket is most likely though not an option for me again. I only want to promote those values Hillary believes in as i am on the same exact page she is.

I think she will go for it, it will be 2012 because of a screw up on Obama's part OR it will be 2016 so in the meantime I'm still all for getting the TRUTH about her out there. I see way too many lies still being told from people who have not followed her career and do not know her at all. I am suspicious as to where these meme's are coming from..they aren't out there in a vacuum you know.
