American 'Titanic' taking water (Albany Herald 8/28/10)

Now America is in the worst depression since the 1930s. Both the Democrats and Republicans are to blame. Democrats have expanded the socialist welfare state and Republicans hace involved America in unaffordable and unnecessary wars. Both parties have allowed excess and illegal immigration to continue.
The Democrats are very likely to face a blood-bath in the elections this November and could potentially lose majority seats in both the House and Senate unless the depression lets up. If it continues in 2011 and 2012, a presidential run by Obama would further destroy political careers of Democrats. I predict that the leaders of the Democratic Party will ask Obama not to run in 2012 and that he will agree.

I predict that the leaders of the Democratic Party will ask Obama to go to the Democratic National Convention in the summer of 2012 and endorse Hillary Clinton for president. Hillary Clinton versus Sarah Palin is virtually a sure win for the Democrats. The Republican party has the nickname “The Stupid Party,” but I hope they will avoid defeat by recognizing that Palin would be a sure loser.

Hillary lived in the White House with Bubba for eight years as the wife of a Southerner, albeit a liberal one, and still has ties to many Southern voters. The gun rights issue has primarily been settled on a national level by the U.S. Supreme Court. In the past, a pro-gun Republican could count on the votes of white Southern males when running against an anti-gun Democrat, but the gun issue may cease to be a major factor. Hillary sidestepped this issue in the 2008 primaries. To become president in the U.S.A., a candidate has to carry at least three of the big six states — California, New York, Illinois, Texas, Florida and Pennsylvania. She already has the first three aforementioned in her pocket. By the summer of 2012, she will have been secretary of state for 3 1/2 years and will have met every national leader of importance in the whole world. Sarah Palin’s credentials are that she was a short-term governor of Alaska — a state with only 650,000 population, half that of Hawaii.

In Washington, D.C., the “leaders” only ask the advice of the “politically correct,” so I don’t have to be concerned about Hillary asking my advice as I am a politically incorrect and unreconstructed unapologetic Southern Confederate. Just for the record, if she were to ask this is what I would tell her. America has been on a credit and debt binge for the past 50 to 60 years and has dug a hole so deep that it is going to take years to get out, if ever. I would tell her that in grand strategy terms that the problems of the U.S.A. are unsolvable. It is like being a general in a war in which you have no chance of winning. Do you want to be that person?

Great find Jen. Thanks!

Oh, I think she has CA, NY, IL, TX, FL AND PA already, as well as MI and a whole bunch of other states! Going by electoral college, her win was a sure win in 2008.

Hillary has solid credentials on the international front. Her economic policies proposed in 2008 were moderate.  Programs she proposed were frugal. Compared to Candidate Obama, her plan gave bigger returns in shorter periods for smaller investment.  She has full mastery of the legislative process and can have full influence on both houses of the Congress.

If Hillary runs, I expect she will win with a landslide.

I agree, Sanders. I don't think the Pubs have anyone who could beat her. Its certainly not outside the relm of possibility that O will find a reason not to seek re-election.
