Good article. However, it assumes that all votes will go to GOP. I hope there are lots of qualified good third-party / independent candidates on the ballot.
I really have to wonder if we want a GOP administration and more defense spending and more favoritism to higher income echelon.

This is a good article - tries to look at all the variables. Regarding the author's failure to include potential Independent candidates, I agree. I would love to see a strong third party emerge. It seems that the two main parties are evolving and splitting between the left and right wings of each party. The moderates of both parties could pretty much run things, if they could fin a way to unite. JMHO.

I agree. Moderates do not have a driving force... but perhaps the extremism of both sides ought to become the driving force. Unfortunatley, Tea Party has not emerged as that moderate group... I was hopeful that it might when it originally started, but it has not become one. Shunting from Dem to Repub is not an attractive proposition. Independents really need that third alternative that is not conservative on the social scale and is acceptable on the fiscal scale.
