I usually don't post articles from pro-Hillary blogs because I figure y'all are already reading them. But today's entry at Hillary is 44 shows some hopeful signs for 2012:
The big news today, that will go unnoticed by Big Media, is Hillary Clinton in Kentucky. So forget Justice Stevens retiring and all the other shiny object bright light news. The big news today is Hillary Clinton in Kentucky. And don’t think Barack Obama does not know it.
Today Barack Obama will spin from his role as International Man Of Boobery to talk on camera about the coal mine deaths in West Virginia. Now why is Obama all of a sudden concerned about the deaths of ‘bitter and clingy’ Americans in West Virginia? Because Hillary Clinton is to speak today in Louisville, Kentucky.
Regular readers of Big Pink will recall that we have repeatedly written that the most important signal to us that Hillary Clinton is contemplating a run for president would be a visit to the states where she walloped Barack Obama in the primaries. That visit happens today.
I usually do read H is 44, and love it, but I missed it today. Thanks for posting this. I'm not in the know enough to agree or disagree with the premise that a Hillary visit to KY signals a contemplated run for potus. But, oh how I would love for it to be true. I have to say, though, that I don't believe there's any way Hillary will challenge BO for the nomination. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but, I just don't think she will - unless the progressive wing of the party, recognizing the terrible mistake they made in 2008, presses her to run, in order to ensure a Dem potus in 2012. I can also see her running for the nom if BO has decided not to run, or if there some info out there, ready to come to light, which would ruin him as a potus and potential candidate. In that case, she might consider, along with other Dem leaders, asking BO to step down - making way for Hill.
Whatever happens, I think we are all ready to "go to the mats" (a little mafia terminology might be called for. lol) for her, and work to help her get what was rightfully hers in 2008.
Another thought regarding our activism - I know we seem small in number. In fact, lots of the PUMA groups and other online blogs, forums, groups by run disenfranchised Dems who supported Hillary, seem to have shrunk - some have disappeared altogether. I don't think we should be discouraged one iota by that. We at this forum, need to act as if we are a big and powerful force. We have something important to say. We have hung together for over two years, writing everyday in support of Hillary, and reminding ourselves and other of the travesty perpetrated by the DNC and Obama in 2008. This injustice never needs to be forgotten. It was blatant, unjust gaming the system and sexism, the likes of which had not been so obvious in years. It does not need to be forgotten.
I think our mission is every-bit as important and relevant today as it was in 2008 and 09. It only takes a few dedicated souls to create significant impact. And, heaven knows, we are some dedicated folks. lol
