Top White House adviser David Axelrod says that if Congress passes the Democrats' national health care bill, it will be politically impossible for Republicans to undo the changes brought by the massive legislation. "I say, Let's have that fight. Make my day," Axelrod said on "Meet the Press." "I'm ready to have that, and every member of Congress ought to be willing to have that debate was well."
Axelrod made the point as he put forward the now-common argument that House Democrats who have already voted for the health care bill once should do so again because they will be attacked by Republican opponents this fall whatever they do.
"I've said many times that they've got a vote that Republicans and the insurance industry and others can run against them already," Axelrod said. "What they don't have is the accomplishment. If this bill passes, this year, children with pre-existing conditions will now be covered. There will be an end to lifetime caps and annual caps on what the insurance companies will cover, so if you get sick you won't go broke, if you get sick they won't throw you off your insurance. The doughnut hole will be filled in, so senior citizens will save hundreds of dollars on their prescription drugs. The life of Medicare will be extended, and on and on and on."
There are holes galore in Axelrod's statement. The Senate health care bill, for example, does not eliminate the insurance coverage caps as Axelrod claims. Bans on discrimination against people with pre-existing conditions have been scaled back. And experts agree that taking money out of Medicare, as the bill does, would not extend the life of Medicare if that money is used to pay for the new health care entitlement instead of shoring up Medicare. Nevertheless, Axelrod said he is ready for a fight.
Can they just once.......just once.....tell the truth about this bill....the truth...the whole truth and nothing but the truth. The American people deserve at least this much.
I am so tired of being jerked around with all their half-truths. This HCR bill WILL NOT extend the life of Medicare, it will more than likely be the straw that breaks the camels back and pre-existing conditions will NOT all be covered.
I just can't hardly stand to even listen to his voice....let alone have to look at him.
Building4112........it's all he knows how to do......that has been obvious since he was elected.....empty promises and alienating party members, some to the point of throwing in the towel..........he's all talk and no walk. The PEOPLE are getting sick of it!!!!
Yes Bloomer and Building4112, I am sick of them too. Sick and wary. They have lost all credibility.. and they have fed us so much crap that we now prejudge them - something I try very very had not to do, but I can no longer help it.
This WH is going to have a very hard time convincing me that their proposed HCR is in the best interest of the people.
I really do not know who in the administration has any credibility to speak on the subject anymore.
There are 3 versions of the bill. And, I am overwhelmed with trying to figure them out. Believe me, I can devour details... and analyze them until the cows come home.. but this bill and its tentacles completely escape me.. and they seem to be masterfully hiding key pieces of the cog that are necessary to understand the picture, like what is the formulary for determining the subsidies. Who determines the reimbursement schedule for a particular type of care? What type of public and governmental reporting are the insurance companies being subjected to? What are the public reporting requirements of medical institutions. None of it is clear. How is "Quality of care" to be determined? What does the Quality of Care reimbursement mean and is it now part of the plan or not and how does it operationalize? How many Health Insurance Exchanges will there be? What type of organizations are these and what are their public reporting requirements? When does and individual quality to purchase insurance from a Health Insurance Exchange? When does a company qualify to purchase group insurance from a Health Insurance Exchange? What happens when a person gains employment or loses employment? How do they transition from/to a Health Insurance Exchange? What happens to the current COBRA Regulation? None of it is clear. Ask your Rep and they do not have the answers.

The men who paid him had to watch and sweat. They peed their pants sissy azz men
