'Very troubling'

Roberts questions SOTU attendance

Chief Justice John Roberts told students at the University of Alabama Tuesday that President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address, in which he singled out a recent Supreme Court decision on campaign finance law for criticism, was “very troubling” and said the annual event has “degenerated into a political pep rally,” the AP reports

Taking a question from a law school student, Roberts said anyone is welcome to criticize the court. “I have no problems with that," he said. "On the other hand, there is the issue of the setting, the circumstances and the decorum. The image of having the members of one branch of government standing up, literally surrounding the Supreme Court, cheering and hollering while the court - according the requirements of protocol - has to sit there expressionless, I think is very troubling."

Roberts also questioned the attendance of Supreme Court Justices at the State of the Union speeches. “I’m not sure why we’re there,” he said.

Decorum is indeed the issue. It was really not protocol for a POTUS to critique the SCOTUS decision in such open setting.  No wonder they are wondering why they are there!

Gawd, Obama is thicker than a post. Now he's got the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court all pissed off at him, way to go, retard - make an enemy with someone who can destroy your career and is on his job for life.

I'd probably skip the next SOTU if I was him, and the rest until Obama is POTUS no more.

Oh Sanders.......you got that right! Nothing he does should surprise us by now.
Never in my life had I seen the kind of disrespect he so obviously displayed that day. The media tried so hard to play it down.........but WE knew!!!!

Meanwhile Obama's camp is out harping and whining, and justifying his words, saying that
Roberts should have shown restraint. All he knows is to bring the bird to a boil.
