Sarah Palin no-show at CPAC; might as well be 'no Presidential run'" (Politico, The Arena 2/18/10)

The Arena

Grover Norquist

Excerpt:

CPAC 2010 is the largest CPAC in history with more than 10,000 attendees.  Roughly half those in the hotel are college aged.  One year ago there were 8000 terrified conservatives.  Today there are 10,000 cheerful conservatives who believe they are riding a wave.

Republican politicians who wish to play on the national stage are speaking: Mitt Romney, Governor Pawlenty of Minnesota, and Florida’s Marco Rubio.  Sarah Palin might as well have announced she is not running for president by choosing to speak to 600 conventioneers in Nashville for $100,000 rather than to 10,000 conservatives for free as Ronald Reagan did every year.

==================================

Yes, this was a huge miss on her part.

Then again, she is already known as a conservative to most of the country. May be she does not want to emphasize that further. But how can she not emphasize it when it is clear to the whole country!  It is a no-win situation for her.

BTW, I saw a clip of CPAC and there was HILLARY on the screen in the biggest bold fontsize ever possible!!
