Nothing makes my heart grow bigger than to witness something this selfless.  A dog was trapped in the water basin and trying to swim and keep afloat.

A helicopter (sp) rescue team darted high-tension wires to lower a man into the water to grab the dog.  The man was bitten repeatedly but hung on to the frightened criter.  They lifted the man and dog to a bridge where another team was waiting to take the dog to the nearest vet office.

Can't express how grateful I am for all our heroes.
