This fall's midterm elections and the economy look to be the big issues on this Sunday's television talk shows, where the Democratic and Republican national chairmen face off twice and White House economic adviser Christina Romer also makes two appearances.

The Democratic chairman, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, and the Republican chairman, Michael Steele, the former Maryland lieutenant governor, appear on NBC's “Meet the Press,” which also has California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican.

"Fox News Sunday" also hosts Kaine and Steele, who's drawn fire for promoting his new book even as the Republican National Committee reported weak fundraising numbers. Other guests include Sens. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) and Jack Reed (D-R.I.).

CBS’s “Face the Nation” has Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.).

And as President Barack Obama tries to pivot to job creation, Romer, who chairs the White House Council of Economic Advisers, is the sole guest on ABC's “This Week.”

Romer also appears on CNN’s “State of the Union,” which also hosts Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.), both live from Jerusalem. The “Last Word” guest is former Richmond, Va., Mayor Doug Wilder, the state's former governor.

CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS” hosts Adm. Michael Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The network’s other afternoon show,“Amanpour,” interviews Gen. David Petraeus, head of the U.S. Central Command. (Emphasis added)

TV One’s “Washington Watch” has White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee and Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.

Bloomberg TV’s “Political Capital” interviews Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.), the ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” hosts IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman, who'll be questioned by The Associated Press’s Stephen Ohlemacher and Dow Jones Newswires’s Martin Vaughan.

And Sunday evening, CBS’s“60 Minutes” has a segment about "Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime," the new book on the 2008 presidential election by political reporters Mark Halperin and John Heilemann.  (Emphasis added)
