First obama gave the "better off financially" $4,500.00 to turn in their hummers, and had the nerve to call them clunkers. So now, he figures they won't mind a gas tax. Nothing surprises me anymore.
He has a "constituency group" of supporters called "environmentalists" who are not too thrilled that nothing substantial came from Copenhagen and cap-n-trade has not passed. He has to placate that crowd.. and find ways to make money to abate the budget situation. So, WSJ is projecting out that there will be gas tax... and yes, that sounds like a reasonable projection. Of course, we can be keyed into that coming and be prepared to talk with our reps... as well start transitioning out our cars if we have the opportunity to do so in the interim, with greater leaning towards best gas mileage cars.
