Why Dobbs Quit CNN: Birthers, Politics (Newsmax 11/13/09)

Since this is one of the few PUMA sites where birthers are not vilified, I felt it was important to post this article here.

http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/Dobbs_quits_CNN/2009/11/13/286122.html

The beginning of the end, the New York Post is reporting, came in July when CNN President Jonathan Klein told Dobbs' staff in a memo to stay away from so-called "birther" stories about doubts that Barack Obama was really born in the United States.

"It seems this story is dead because anyone who still is not convinced doesn't really have a legitimate beef," Klein said in the memo.

Dobbs and Klein have been at odds ever since, according to the Post.

During the 2008 campaign, Barack Obama released a shortened version of his birth certificate, sometimes called a certification of live birth. However, he has yet to release his long form birth certificate, which would indicate the actual place of his birth.

This has given rise to Internet rumors that Obama was born outside the United States. Officials in Hawaii have looked at the long form and have stated that he was, indeed, born in the state.

CNN apparently doesn’t like the controversy and is seeking to position itself as a middle-of-the-road news source between conservative Fox News and left-leaning MSNBC, and Dobbs reportedly had been resisting pressure to soften his stance on immigration and other issues.

It's really disgraceful that Klein, the head of an American news outlet has determined that the news is not worth reporting, if it's not what he and the Obama supporters want to hear. That's one reason all of our work, research, blogging, etc. is so important, IMO. When the news networks refuse to present the news, it's up to the individual to gather information.

I think Dobbs will be much better off without CNN, and CNN will continue to tank. That's my hope, anyway. I saw the broadcast when Lou mentioned the bc. He was very appropriate, stating that he was not claiming the eligibility issue to be a legitimate one, but acknowledging that if there's nothing to the matter, the POTUS should just put an end to the controversy, and produce the bc.

If CNN was threatened by that bit of objective, factual reporting, then that network can't last long. I think there needs to be a strong ratcheting up of our efforts and the efforts of all PUMAs, whether they're part of the birther scene or not, to ACTIVELY boycott all of CNN sponsors. This is not about the content of the news. It's about an attempt by mainstream media to misinform the public, to present half truths, to keep the public in the dark about information that directly impacts the citizens of this country. Even if the story were an outright lie, it's newsworthy that the movement has grown to a significant size, that some evidence to support their claims about the bc issue has been found. I mean, do you even believe this sh**? CNN found it worthwhile to spend two months on Anna Nicole Smith's baby daddy, but chooses not to address this issue, and allows one of their top people to leave the network over this. They would rather lose Lou, who will take most of their viewers with him, than to actually report something that, if proven true, would make O look bad.

I say BOYCOTT! BOYCOTT! BOYCOTT!

Unfortunately, the List of Those Who Would Potentially Take a Shot at Lou Dobbs is a Very Large Number

Who would take a shot at Lou Dobbs? As it turns out, authorities are still in the dark and unsure of the answer to that question, or even if the sometimes controversial CNN news anchor was actually shot at or just the accidental victim of a stray bullet. According to Lou Dobbs, he was a victim of a house shooting this past week, and he said on his radio show that the nation was "engaged in a battle for the soul of this country."

I know what the answer is.  This was not about Dobbs questioning Immigration.  It wouldn't make any sense for someone's beliefs who are different than Dobbs to react with violence regarding immigration.  The media threw it out there to avoid the 'lack of eligibility' issue to be associated with violence.

Lou Dobbs has been very out spoken about questioning omoron's natural born citizenship, which obamie's supporters will not stand for.  Every time I mention it to his supporters, they turn dark and ugly and say (through their angry, clenched teeth), "he was BORN in Hawaii".
His supporters are not normal people.  The ones that I know are ruthless, selfish, angry and will do anything to defend "the one".  Truly a scene out of the movie, "The Invasion of Body Snatchers".

Last night, we had dinner with a couple from my husband's work.  They are in-love with oblamo.  We mentioned Lou Dobbs and that was all we had to say to find out that this couple was "not quite right".  First, they started calling Dobbs all kinds of angry names and then they went on to praise o-joker.  It truly was scary to listen to them say things like, "how can you not want hope and change, after all isn't that what we need after 8 years of Bush and we feel hopeful because of him".  My husband and I were kicking each other under the table, as they went on with more lingo.  The couple continued, "he has a lot on his plate - he's only been in office for a short time - look at the mess Bush left him - he's doing a great job - it's not an easy job - he's working on all his promises, people need to understand that the country was in a bigger mess than anyone knew - the stimulus is working" and on and on they went with their brainwashed thoughts.  My husband and I said to each other after the couple left, "didn't they seem like THEY would be normal?".

We truly believe there are two different kinds of people now.  People who think obozo is great and people who know that obozo is a dancing clown.

The difference between the two groups is that the latter is the group I would want to spend my time with, while the first group needs to be locked away with obama and stop frightening the rest of us citizens!

I guess CNN doesn't give a damn about real news anymore.  They just want to cover things up for Obama

All you have to do is think about how the media would be treating the story if Hillary was the one whose eligibility had been in question.

The news would have first reported it the minute the subject was brought up, hundreds of investigative reporters would have been on the story.

There would be hourly - or more - updates on the subject.

Hillary would have been drummed out of the race, end of story, and she would have gone down in history as the biggest liar and worst person ever.  How dare she mislead this great country!  What was she thinking??  And the person who delivered her bc would be hailed as a national hero.

But, because it is Barry Soetoro, the opposite happened, and continues to happen.  His past must be hidden and his incompetent self protected at all costs.

Thanks for posting the story, Jen.smile

LOL. I feel for ya, Destiny. Nothing's worse than having to play host to a couple of Obots. I think they were rude in talking that way in somebody else's house, they should've been able to tell by both of your reactions that maybe they should just stfu. But then, they ARE Obots.

CNN and their overlords must have been driving Dobbs up the wall for him to quit and leave all that money behind. I hear he's now contemplating a run for the NJ Senate, among other things. Wish him luck, his departure from CNN was their loss not his - his ratings he pulled will be irreplacable.

Fun idea for a party game.

1. Invite some obots to your house.

2. Don't bring That One into the conversation, but say or do something to make them start talking about 0 (i.e. have your TV tuned to Fox News, leave a magazine with Hillary on the cover sitting on the coffee table, mention Lou Dobbs or Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck).

3. When your obot guests start talking about 0, offer them a glass of Kool-Aid. See if they get the hint. (Betcha they won't.)

4. As the obots talk more and more about 0, keep offering Kool-Aid. ("Care for another glass of Kool-Aid? Do you want more ice with your Kool-Aid? Would you like to help me make another pitcher of Kool-Aid? Why don't we have grape instead of strawberry this time?")

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 over and over again, until your guests have to go to the bathroom.

6. When they get there, make sure there either is no toilet paper or that the only kind available is novelty Obama toilet paper.

Heehee...

So is Lou Dobbs really going to run for the NJ Senate? Awesome if he does!

This sounds fun, if you can stomach being around such incredible idiots.  I couldn't do it, though, I would like to be invited to someone's home and watch THEM serve the kool-aide, etc.  That would be enjoyable!  If only we had any friends that hated him, like we do.

I know I made it sound like the dinner guests were inside our home (because I said, "when they left"), but actually we were at a restaurant and they left before we did.  My husband saw the man at work and he said they had a great time and wanted to get together again with us.  I told my husband, no (he agreed).  As far as I'm concerned, I never want to spend another moment of my life looking into the faces of idiots.

My husband and I are not dealing with obozo's supporters very well.  We are not able to laugh just yet.  We are still so angry and I think we are still reeling from shock.
Sometimes it feels like it'll never end.

It's definitely a nightmare, Des.  And it must be much harder for people who are surrounded by nothing but obots, as you are.  I don't know if people around me like him or not, as no one ever discusses politics!  Actually, I take that back.  In the last few days, I've had discussions with people who are not close friends, but I talk to them occasionally, who think Obama's an idiot.  Normally, I don't bring politics up, as I don't want to have arguments, or even talk about that b@$t@rd.  My husband, of course, is a Dem "true believer," so that has necessitated us NOT discussing politics.  Believe or not, our relationship has improved since I gave up trying to tell him about BO's constant destructive antics!!

That's probably for the best, just avoiding politics as much as possible if you have to deal with Obots. They're not about to admit their mistake in electing that twit, they'll excuse anything he does.

So you met up with them at a restaraunt? biggrin Sounds like THEY had a good time, but the both of you sure didn't - typical, most Obots are as totally oblivious as you'd think.
