I have been thinking of creating a new regular blog over at TNA that gives suggestions to women (or men) on how to correct someone if they have made a sexist comment. I am thinking that it might look like a Dear Abby kind of thing with maybe a cross of "Yahoo Best Answer" kind of thing. Everyone can contribute a suggestion to how they would handle the situation; either humorous or biting, whichever floats your boat.
I have to come up with a name that is catchy and I don't want it to just be about Optix because I feel it is important that other bloggers at TNA can contribute to this as well (as well as outside participants if they wish).
If you guys have some situations that you can set me up with, and or if you have suggestions on what we could call it that would be great!
We can also use this to help build up our peeps here too because we would have a place that we can link our suggestions.
It was we, the people; not we, the white male citizens; nor yet we, the male citizens; but we, the whole people, who formed the Union.... Men, their rights and nothing more; women, their rights and nothing less. ~Susan B. Anthony
We decided to call it Sexism Stoplight and I have posted my very first blog under this heading. Future topics may be funny but they also may be serious. A serious one that I will deal with in the near future will be about how people (not just men) think that a woman that they hate just needs a good F'in to adjust her attitude.
Come join in and give your suggestions to how one could handle the topic of the day. The link is here.
Great idea! I've contributed a comment to the first question.

My first response to this was "Gross!" Then I started thinking about it, and wonder if men think this is so because THEIR attitudes/emotions benefit from a sexual encounter. They are different creatures than we are, definitely, and one of my professors in a sex and psychology class said that they benefit mentally from that kind of closeness, whereas women benefit greatly from being heard, understood, and supported.
Not better, not worse, just different!
So "they" should say: "That woman just needs a good listening to!
