It's not dumb, they just make it very difficult for people to avoid these things.  I don't know the answer to your question, but I have a suggestion.  Just type in "How do I remove the Google toolbar?" into a good search engine, and you'll get plenty of help!wink  Good luck, Shadow!smile

Thank you Alex. I did that and it said to go ask the google support site. I learned xp and hate windows 7.

I ended up doing a backdate to before the thing installed. I am very grateful to my family for getting me a new laptop to get me off the hard floor, and i shouldn't complain, but windows 7 sucks. confuse

I apologize for bumping this.

If anyone, like me, isn't good at computer stuff, and goes from xp to windows 7, and accidently downloads the google toolbar, I found out how to remove it.

If you use firefox, click on tools (top on toolbar), click downloads, the google toolbar should be in the list, right click it, then click uninstall.

I sure hate windows 7. confuse

You're very welcome.  Glad it worked!  I use that for a lot of things, although sometimes I don't think to do it right away.smile

Thanks Alex!

I have had this desktop forever and it uses xp. But with my health, it is hard for me to sit here for very long. My family gave me a surprise gift of a new acer laptop so that i can use it anywhere. I love it, but it is just so different from xp. smile

Xp, you just open the control panel to delete things. Windows 7 , it is impossible to find anything. It has a box to type in what you are looking for but so far I have not had good luck with that. biggrin

It also won't use outlook express email, which is my home email on this. I hate that part of the laptop. It won't even let me download it. They claim windows 7 is improved vista, so I hate to see what vista is like. confuse

I do like the gadgets though.  biggrin
