Defending Darrah and Amy From Racist Attacks (Hillarysworld-hillarysmygirl16 10.18.09)

I had to write this article because the Daily Kos really has it out for both Darrah Murphy and Amy Suskind.  I feel that as an African American I need to point out what is racist and what is not.  I am sorry but opposing Obama because he is black is racist but opposing him because he is an azz hole jerk is the right thing to do.
I am sick of the race card being played and frankly calling a white person racist because they don't support a black person is racist.  There is a racist stereotype that ALL White People are racist so when you play into that Stereotype you are being racist.
I do not believe there is such a thing called reverse racism its just racism pure and simple and I do not like racism against anyone regardless of their race.

I don't know Amy or Darrah personally, but they're both doing good work and it's disturbing to hear that they're still being threatened.

Wow! HMG16, you were on a roll in that article. Thank you for calling these folks out for screaming "racist" about everyone who dislikes O. This was much more effective coming from an African American than it would have been from a white person, or a person of any other race, actually.

Regarding your statement about black males, I have recently had the same discussion with an AA friend of mine. She has a son in his early twenties, and worries because of the very issues you mentioned in your article. When her son goes out at night with friends, she reminds him that (in her words) "He's public enemy number 1." I had never thought of it in exactly those terms, but in some regions of the country, I have no doubt that's an accurate description of how some people perceive young, AA males. How sad that is.

Thanks for kicking some DK butt. They're long overdue.

Great article, HMG! These people really want to just defame anyone who supports women and supported Hillary. We need to stick up for eachother when these people try to spread lies.

I am just so sick of this whole race card thing.  I have seen good people hurt by this sort of defamation and although both Amy and Darrah are used to this sort of thing by the DK crowd someone needs to call these nut cases out.

Excellent article HMG!

Obama ran a post racial campaign. If he had spoken up and told people to stop this, I would have respected him. He hides behind it. People are fed up and it is going to impact future non caucasian people who run for office.

One of the most heart breaking things about Obama's campaign and now his reign in the W.H. is the way the word "racist" is thrown around so lightly. So casually as if it hasn't cost thousands of lives. As someone whose family was involved in the civil rights movement and who saw first hand the price of that time I am appalled. I am afraid for this generation and for our people when this word is taken and smeared on everyone and everything moving without due cause. This is hurting people and that's precisely why it's being done. The "race" card memo that came directly out of the Obama campaign has continued and it's disgusting and dangerous. It dismisses the fear and courage of those who have fought to make it so that Obama could indeed be our president in the first place.

If he doesn't want to change the tone of the conversation in this country from what he has caused it to be now back to at the very least where we were before he gained the W.H. *through nefarious means btw* then all the work that came before is slowly going down the drain.

So many people have been called racists now for simply opposing Obama the exact way they have opposed other presidents that he has cheapened the dire meaning of that word. That is unforgivable. UNFORGIVABLE.

And KOS to even dare to say something like a certain color of woman has it worse than another is blind. THOUSANDS of women of every color, age and political bent are being murdered every year in their own homes in the U.S. They are being raped...they face a world the preppie KOS kids mostly cannot understand and don't care a thing about.

In fact I highly doubt they really care about "racism" either. They've not sacrificed anything, don't risk anything and don't produce anything positive to change anything. All they do is create hatred and more fear with their name calling.

I hope Amy or Darraugh sue them. I am really afraid for country with these people writing such horrible trash about a topic that has never once cost them a thing in their lives but, which will cost us all if they don't get some integrity and begin to stop blindly carrying a dangerous lie of a message. Disgusting.

I am glad you wrote your article today HMG. Kos is over the top and insults so many people in that article it's not even funny. People they have no earthly idea about. People, some of whom have actually had to PAY nearly with their lives to promote equality ...narrow, myopic, lies that they are paid to write.

Everyday now it's like we have to take a daily dose of the race card, and like HMG we just need to counter the use of it.
We hear ya, keep talking HMG!

They care about winning an argument, so they try to shut people down by calling them racists.  The troubling part about what is going on in our society right now, as others have pointed out, is that racism continues to limit people of color (as sexism limits women's lives), but the only thing the Left considers racist is opposing them or BO.  That's an unproductive stance that does hurt people in their everyday lives because BO's policies oftentimes don't help the poor or AA, or Latinos, or women, or the GLBT community, etc...  So, he must be held accountable.  Just supporting his policies no matter what doesn't move us forward.  And no, I don't think they actually care about racism either.
