Thousands of people swarmed Cobo Hall in chaos this morning trying to get applications for housing and utility payment assistance from the city of Detroit.
People fainted, others fought as the Detroit Police Gang Unit tried to keep people in line --- some since last night --- and in check.
“It’s a disaster here,” former assistant Detroit Police chief and city council candidate Gary Brown said, handing out water. “This is dangerous. Very unorganized, very dangerous.”
The federal government is late with the help for the Ultilities. People are scared. I know its hard trying to get your Ultilites back on without assistence.
Yeah, people are scared. And they should be scared. Our government is inept and clueless. They really don't give a sht what people are going through. They think we're all sitting around worrying about global warming or Chicago not getting the Olympics or some other non-issue. I have yet to hear Obama or anyone in Congress address the real issue-- unemployment. There are no jobs here.
