This author's right, in my opinion, "Hillary does not belong in a weak administration."
Poll dancing
POSTED BY JOHN W SMART AT THURSDAY, OCTOBER 01, 2009 It's October and I must admit that my prediction that Obama would fall below 50% in September has not come to pass. Obama ended September at 52% by RCP's average. It's hard to dispute that number as it covers most of the major polling firms. Plus 52% feels about right. POTUS seems to has settled in the low fifties for now. The country is split as it was last fall. The difference is that those who disapprove are more fervent and vocal about it.
Circumstances indicate that he'll slowly and steadily sink into and throughout 2010. The main "circumstance" being the unemployment rate - which is the number main street relates to the economy. Until jobs start being created, green shoots are so much horse **** to most of us. Friday's unemployment number is the very last one that can be shoved off on Bush and even that will take some serious spinning.
I bet Chicago will get the 2016 Olympics on Friday but do not think that will boost Obama's numbers much, if at all. Grumbling about his trip is can be heard up all over the political map. Regardless of the outcome, Obama should not be there. It's beneath his office.
A foreign crisis would provide POTUS a boost - probably - as it almost always does. The odd thing about Obama is that he does not seem capable of projecting strength. I once thought it was just his effete intellectualism that appeared weak and that he'd turn on the macho when needed. Now I'm not sure there is any macho. We shall see soon enough.
One last thought - I've been a supporter of Clinton as S.O.S. as it clearly suits her strengths, kept her in the thick of the conversation, while removing her from having to defend her boss on domestic issues. However, if Obama continues to appear apologetic, weak, and dithering on the world stage, Clinton needs to find the exit in 2010. Obama's lack of focus on McCrystal's report has gone from somewhat explainable, to worrisome - and now appears to be outright procrastination. In other words, the opposite of Clinton's m.o. She does not belong in an indecisive administration. http://liberalrapture.com/
