Captain Friday, Thanks for posting this . . . I missed part of Fox and Friends this morning.
Go Glenn and Fox News!
Hopefully, they can help save our Country from disaster.
I love his mention of Gandalf's "You shall not pass" speech. As a Lord of the Rings fan, I actually thought of the comparison awhile back also. It certainly fits this situation.
At approximately 2:41, is what Glenn is referring to . . .

I truly dislike Glenn Beck because he was a top rate offender in regard to the sexist slander strewn at Hillary during the Primaries. I am keeping a mental list of those Pubs and Dems who capitalized on her slander and Beck is high on the list.
I don't like him so I don't watch him. Simple. I try not to point a finger at those who do watch him because we really have very few avenues for reliable news thanks to MSNBC and CNN being what they are. I don't listen to Rush and Ann Coulter for the exact same reasons. It is OK to disagree with one's policy positions, it is another to demean someone because of their body type, hairstyle, or laugh just because that is the only way you can distract from their intelligence.
I will never like any of these three for the exact same reasons that I don't like Olbermann, Matthews, or Maddow.
If I want commentary and thought provoking discussion, I watch Bill Moyers on PBS. The rest are in the same category as Jerry Springer as far as I am concerned.

What does Gandalf say right before his fall? And what is that thing that attacked him? I'm going to call Obama whatever that thing's name is.

Captain, I love your avatar! That is one of the best pictures of Hillary I've seen.
As for Glenn, this better not be nothing...
She does look great in that avi, doesn't she?
LOTR fan, huh? Gandalf RAWKED, btw.
On topic, I wish Beck was talking about the head commie, Obama, but I think it's a reference to one of his comrade czars, probably Sunstein, but it could be anyone. Rham is another possibility . . . *ducks*

Alex,
Gandalf says "Fly, You Fools" before he falls. It is very difficult to understand. In other words, he is telling them to run fast, as if they were flying.
The thing attacking Gandalf is called a Balrog. It is a fictional demonic creature. They have the ability to shroud themselves in fire, shadow, and darkness. And, they can not be easily destroyed.

I am a LOTR fan as well. My favorite scene is in Return of the King when Eowyn says to the Witch King, "I am no man!" and kills him. I could watch that part 100 times and never tire of it. [for those of you who don't know, the Witch King cannot be killed by a man and Eowyn is a woman. Eowyn dresses up like a soldier so that she can accompany her King and her kinsman into battle against Sauron. The Witch King mortally wounds her King and wounds Eowyn while she is protecting her King. The Witch King thinks he is going to fell the final blow and reminds his victim that no man can kill him. Eowyn's reply rocks!!]

One of my favorite scenes too! My husband and I have watched the trilogy at least five times together. Yes, we are big fans of it!
Optix, I'll have to say I agree with you regarding Beck and the others you named. I did switch to FOX during the primary when they were at least acknowledging the fact that MSM were totally pro-BO and Anti-Hill. I was aware that though they were kinder to Hill in 2008, many at FOX had said vile things about Hill and Bill in the past. It was pretty obvious that their new found tolerance of Hill was motivated, at least in part, by their desire to build their numbers by targeting Hill supporters. Additionally, their condemnation of the treatment of Hill enabled them to take a well-deserved shot at MSM. During the primary, when I did watch TV news, I could take FOX better than CNN and the Obama networks. I have continued to watch off and on, for the same reasons, but I became tired of their "fair and balanced" theme rather quickly, because it was so obviously not true. FOX is as clearly biased toward the right as CNN is toward the left. And while there are many vile and mean spirited people at CNN, MSNBC, and other stations, FOX is definitely not without their share of vicious, back-biting, reporters and pundits. Many of them have raging cases of Clinton Derangement Syndrome. Rush has always been a Hillary hater, as well. So has Ann Coulter - but she hates so many people and is so insulting, the strength of her venom is diluted by the sheer number of people she slams - in a personal, hurtful way.
While I'm glad that Beck is trying to warn the public about many issues related to Obama's failed administration, I do find it hard to watch him. I don't care for EgO'rieley or Hannity either. Both play the fair and balanced card, while trying to push their own agendas, as well. I think Greta has the best news program of all the major networks, and hers is about the only show I watch.

For myself, I never watched Fox News until last year, so I don’t have any point of reference regarding what they were in the past or what any of them may have said. I remember thinking they were “evil”, because that was what I had been lead to believe by other networks . . . CNN mainly.
What I do know, is that without Fox News, so much about the Obama administration would not be exposed. It is a fact that msm is in the tank and there is not any type of real news coming from them. I watched CNN and when they started allowing vile, hateful, and completely outrageous commentary on their shows, I turned to Fox last year and have not left since then.
I do support Glenn Beck. He has put himself on the line to expose this administration. He is sincere and honest and wants the best for our country. I have followed him since January on Fox. I never watched him on CNN, so again I am without point of reference. I just know what I see now. Beck listens to the public and asks for help, which is more than any other media has done. Each day, I watch him and I do support him, for he is trying and no one else really is.
Concerning the rest of Fox, I don’t really care for O’Reilly. I believe he suffers somewhat from the “elitist” syndrome. And, I find myself in disagreement with him more times than not. I do watch Hannity and find him spot-on on many occasions. And, I watch Greta. She stays out of the fray for the most part. For business news, I watch Cavuto and find his show informative. As far as Rush goes, I never watched or listened to him in the past or now. I always found him a bit gregarious and over-the-top. And, Ann Coulter is simply appalling. Her sarcastic demeanor is beyond belief. When she is on, I simply don't listen. Fox would be better off if they "ditched" her; at least, she is not on very often. And, I understand that they feel the need to have someone on that will do her type of stuff to appeal to a certain part of their audience, but it doesn't mean that I have to agree or listen to her.
Hannity describes himself as a “Regan Conservative”; Beck is a Libertarian; O’Reilly - I don’t really know; and Greta appears to be Democrat. No one is going to ever find any media 100% agreeable all of the time or 100% bias free. The trick is finding one that you can trust and believe the most. Yes, they all spin things and have an underlying agenda, which is to be expected in the world that we live in now. What I want is to find media that is trying to get REAL news out to the people. And, one that does REAL investigative reporting. Yes, one has to filter the spin, but that is an inherent thing in all media.
For me, I would rather watch Fox, then hear crickets chirping and fluff segments from the other networks. Fox is trying to expose this administration. So, for now, I am firmly in their corner. Just my opinion.

Thanks, Calico. I should have maybe read the bold white title across the FRONT of the video for the name of the creature.
Here's the message for O-balrog, from Alexdalf:
"The dark fire will not avail you. Go back to the shadow. YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!"
Hubby got out the LOTR DVDs he has and we looked at the captions.

Is Yosi Sergant the person he was talking about? An ABC article about him leaving the Administration and being reassigned are here. He seems like a liberal freakazoid from what he said in the conference call that was recorded. Gah!

Yes, Sergant is another one of the liberal zombies. Glenn did expose him a few days ago on his show. He accused Sergant of using propaganda (pictures, images, posters, etc.) similar to Nazi Germany to influence the public. He also did a segment on the history of some of the artwork found in NYC (especially Rockefeller Center) and what the images represent.
First Van Jones, then NEA, and now Acorn are Fox's targets. Sustein and Holdren are also in the mix.
What Glenn was referring to was Acorn and the corruption that was exposed in their Baltimore office today. Fox News has been discussing it all day, while msm have their usual "crickets chirping" . . .
