PETA is one of the nuttiest groups of people out there.  I love animals and take care of animals but these people are terriorists. PETA needs to be classified as a terriorist groups.  Fruit cakes.

I love animals. Everybody knows how much my cat means to me.

But I agree that peta is a bunch of nuts. That ad is sick.

I am really getting sick of these kinds of ads, theirs, and those on tv, telling us we are all too old, fat, and ugly to live.

I would love a good look into the closets of the peta head honchos. I would probably find lots of leather shoes and purses.

I used to be a member of PETA and was a supporter of theirs especially having been a worker at the official MACCA site. However, I LEFT there when they started running those ads and the one that sent me over the EDGE was the one comparing animals to holocaust survivors. Sorry but, no way. Also, PETA does a lot of HARM to organizations that ARE trying to do good for animals with their rabid tactics.

Wow, that is the STUPIDEST marketing campaign I've ever seen!  They seriously need to fire and sue the company that came up with that.  They have just alienated probably HALF the people who might have supported them.

It reminds me of that horrible goldfish commercial, where they let the fish out of the water (not PETA, but someone else) and it struggled and gasped for breath.  Cruel and disgusting.

In my opinion PETA zealots (not the ones who just write a check to them to feel good about themselves and the cute little animals they think they are saving) are just the same as all the other "extreme" groups - they are angry.   It really doesn't matter what the issue is most of these "extreme" people are just looking for an outlet to their anti-social personalities.  They are misfits.  Usually very intellectual but unable to think outside their own world view.  They NEED to make everyone see life their way - or they feel threaten.   From their perspective anything to advance their cause is fair game.  That is my take on them and all the other "extremes".

Bword, I think there's something to your theory about extremists losing perspective. With loss of perspective comes defective judgment and flawed reasoning. The person who came up with that add campaign didn't do PETA any favors. It's beyond insulting, and has weakened their ability to effectively fight for their goals, in my opinion. It also makes them appear unstable and out of touch. Women are becoming increasingly tired of being insulted, ridiculed, and hurt. An organization with such dedication to helping animals should have, at least, as much compassion and respect for women. Sadly that's not the case.

Yes, their "zeal" to get their message out has clouded their perception of reality.  They are living in a "bubble".  In their quest, they don't seem to realize that campaigns, such as this one, is offensive to the vast majority of people.  They have gone to the extreme.

I am all for animals.  I have seven cats and one dog.  But, it all needs to be kept in perspective and in reality.

It's ridiculous and insulting to many, many women. I guess men aren't overweight, huh?
And of course the only cause for being overweight is eating animals. no
