Republican: Expect 'two years of good old-fashioned gridlock' if GOP wins House

By Michael O'Brien - 10/25/10 02:16 PM ET

Voters should expect "good old-fashioned gridlock" in Washington if Republicans win control of one or both chambers of Congress, one GOP lawmaker said.

Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah), a vice chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, told students at Utah State University on Friday that a GOP-held House might not be able to accomplish too much as long as President Obama's in the White House.

"The most you can expect is two years of good old-fashioned gridlock," he said at an event on the campus, according to a report by the university's paper, the Utah Statesman.

Yep!  All except the Smith Bill, I suppose... It's already bipartisan and more than 175 people endorsing right off the gate!  We shall see how many of them get re-elected and how many more get added that sign that.

Can you imagine, the country in economic morass and the Congress in gridlock?

Somehow.. the more i think about that, the more I feel that the entire Congres will know who won on November 3rd. It will be the corporations thanks to the MANY ads and campaign monies they could doll via the nonprofits (the extent of which is still quite unclear). And, that is something they cannot afford to ignore if they want to be re-elected.  So, the House especially will pay close attention to corporate interests because they have just two years in which to get things accomplished, and then it is time to run another 2-year term...  There is hardly any time to go campaign in your congressional district.  They are totally at the mercy of local companies and the Chamber of Commerce (COC) which in a sense is in the insurance business as COC is the provider of insurance for many small businesses.

Expect a strong push for (a) modified tax structures [such as VAT that gives further advantages to those who have already amased wealth] (b) tax proposal on insurance benefits.  All favoring corporations and wealthy.. all in the name of deficit reduction and job creation...  Believe it?  There's a Brooklyn Bridge out there!
