Email action alert regarding the Disclose Act (care2petitionsite) 09-30-10

I got this via email, and have not researched the particulars - just passing it along.  The petition states that Republican Senators are trying to block this bill crafted to prevent "foreigh corporations and special interests from buying our elections."

Obviously, the Dems did their part to destroy democracy, especially in 2008, so there's enough blame for the sad state of democratic process to go around.  However, at first glance, this does appear to be a bill that needs to be enacted. Thought you guys might be interested, or might have some info to share.

What is democracy? These days, the definition is blurred, but there is one thing democracy is definitely NOT: democracy is not having our elections rigged by big money.

The DISCLOSE Act is a bill that helps our democracy by blocking foreign corporations and special interests from buying our elections.

Write to your Senators today about the DISCLOSE Act. >>

Sadly, Republican Senators have voted to block the DISCLOSE act from even reaching the Senate floor. They hope that big corporations will help them regain their majority, but this is not how the U.S. should play politics!

Tell Republican Senators that you want special interests out of our elections. >>

Thank you for taking action!

This bill does not cover union campaign donations.  Corporations are "special interests" but the unions aren't?  Until the unions are part of the bill, I don't blame Republicans for saying nope on this one.

Don't blame me...I voted HILLARY!
