Obama’s Young Voters Finding Out They’ve Been Hustled (NewsReal Blog 9/04/10)

If the 66 percent of 18 to 29- year-olds who lined up to vote for The One in 2008 had  done their homework they might have discovered  that they weren’t the first group to be conned by Barack Hussein Obama. He’s used the same MO, the same lines and the same on-cue smile for years. Too bad young people always have to find out the hard way – we tried to tell them.
And so did the Machinists Union President Tom Buffenbarger in February 2008 while stumping for Hillary Clinton.  The video posted on another Web site warns the “latte drinking, Birkenstock-wearing” college students about the “trained thespian,” the “shadow-boxer” and the “two-faced” Obama who “acts like a friend to the working man” to get votes. In 2004 the candidate stood in solidarity with the Maytag workers only to betray them in the worst possible way.

Well, it’s tomorrow and according to a September 2 New York Times article the recession has hit Obama’s disciples smack dab in their materialistic little hearts. He and Axelrod-Goebbels should have realized early on that millennials don’t like to go without.  In the old days, back in the 80s, that meant food, shelter and clothing – now the 20-somethings can’t survive for an hour without a cell phone.

The youthful materialists apparently didn’t take the time to read Obama’s book, The Audacity of Hope. The red flags were everywhere but none so obvious as this bizarrely prescient statement:

I serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views. As such I am bound to disappoint some, if not all, of them.

The students cited in the NYT article are expressing a lot more than disappointment. Mandi Asay, a 22 year-old spokesperson for the campus chapter of theCollege Democrats said:

People are angry, about the budget deficit, the health care plan, angry about this and that, I feel like Republicans definitely, definitely have a chance of getting back on their feet.

Mandi and her fellow students are not alone. Recently, my 27- year-old daughter took a second job working part-time at Starbucks. She called me the first week to let me know that her same age co-workers feel that Obama has “screwed” them “royally” (their words not mine).

The youth unemployment rate for July, 2010 stands at 19.1 percent for the 16 to 24 year-old group, the highest on record for that month since 1948.

What has and has not been "accomplished" is making them take a closer look at the "blank slate" they have elected.  Did we not alert you?

Bad economy that is not pulling out of the rut is just one factor. Young people have a lot of impact from the policies of this POTUS.

Having gone through that feeling of being duped by Candidate Obama, I know how difficult it is to live through that. There is nothing like the crush of hope - it comes darn close to betrayal of friendship and trust.

The Obamakids did their part to damage this country as they chanted and campaigned for him throughout this country, urging their buds to join the cult. Of course, as with most young people, they needed a group with which to identify, and sought acceptance by conforming to that group's behavior and mindset. Obama and his crew knew full well that this would be the case. The One pandered to this group like a rising pop-star at a concert, and reeled them in.

Of course the Obamakids refused to listen to us grown-ups. They were not yet mature enough to realize that they weren't as smart as they thought they were - and the adults were not as stupid. The young Obama followers were not experienced enough to recognize a con-artist like Obama. And, they were conned - big time.

The kids have much to be angry about, but whether or not they realize it, they should be most angry about the careless way in which Obama used them. He made them think they were part of something new and wonderful - a political tidal wave which would sweep the great visionary and progressive into office. He convinced them that with their help, he would create a utopia. They did their part, chanting "Yes we can" until their little throats were sore. Once Obama got where he wanted to be, he kicked his little buddies to the curb, and moved on.

Hopefully, lessons were learned. But, you have to wonder how many of the young Obama followers have become so disillusioned that they will refrain from political involvement - even voting - for some time to come. No doubt, plenty of other Americans who voted for Obama are disappointed and angry, but most adults who have been around for awhile aren't terribly shocked when their elected officials let them down.

For the kids who were willingly duped in to joining Cult Obama, the pain of disappointment must be pretty sharp, indeed.

And, one day, when I'm not still so angry at their arrogant, snotty, behavior and stupidity, I might actually feel sorry for the little jerks.
