An Odd Bipartisan Pairing

The Beltway is known for odd bipartisan pairings. The latest head-scratcher? Michelle Obama and former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.

Or maybe not. The White House announced Tuesday that the first lady will work with the Partnership for a Healthier America, a group for which Frist (along with Newark, N.J., Mayor Cory Booker) serves as honorary vice chairman.

POLITICO has learned that the first lady and Frist have chatted once or twice about childhood obesity on conference calls.

Frist, a doctor, and Booker will try to “cement private-sector commitments toward the shared goal of reducing childhood obesity,” the White House said in a statement.

I think this is a very good thing to see.  All for it.

Strange bedfellows. Since Big Dawg is interested in this issue, as well, wonder if he and MO will confer? I hardly see that happening.
