"Sarah Palin pitches show to L.A. Executives" (by Politico Staff, Politico 3/4/10)

"

Sarah Palin and "Survivor" producer Mark Burnett have been meeting with network execs in L.A. to pitch a "TV docudrama about Alaska," Entertainment Weekly reports.

A source described it as a "planet-Earth look" at the former governor's home state.

Palin, who was in town taping her appearance on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show," has met with NBC, ABC and Fox. According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Palin and her family would be followed on-camera in the show."

[snip]

A source close to Palin, however, tells POLITICO's Playbook that "it is NOT a reality show of any sort, and NOT about her family, as some Hollywood media have speculated. It is about the people, geography, wildlife and wonders of Alaska."

  • Yes. I would definitely tune in.
  • I may check it out.
  • No. I see enough of her in the news.

And my reservations about Palin and her motives continues to grow. Now she's shopping a TV show??? I never thought I'd say this but thank goodness she's not our VP. I believe she might have some narcissistic tendencies herself.

yeah, same here.

Somehow "docudrama about Alaska" and "planet-Earth look" do not seem to go on the same page. But, we shall see.  May be they will make a documentary of someone (Palin?) hunting down and field dressing a moose. Don't know.  Will that get a lot of audience? Probably.  Will it add to her presidential quals? Hmmmm..

When I first saw the headlines “Palin Shops Reality Show”, my thoughts were that it was obviously another “hit job”, a typical tabloid style propaganda piece, with a “catchy title”. And, I was right. The actual truth is she is looking to do a documentary on Alaska. Starring in the latest reality show is far from the truth. This proposed show should showcase a state most people probably know little about in relation to the other states. Nothing wrong with that at all. She promised to help Alaska and what better way than to educate others about her state.

The typical “hit piece” headlines, such as “Palin Shops Reality Show” from the msm does have an effect on people. It provides the subconscious effect as “hit piece” after “hit piece” is paraded in front of the American people for consumption. It only serves to severely undermine her image, message, credibility, and basically how she is perceived by the public.  It is an attempt to skew perception and the actual  truth to achieve a desired result, and, unfortunately, it seems to work well in some cases.  And this applies to, not only, Palin, but anyone who dares to speak about “conservative values”, “common sense solutions”, and “restoring America to what the Founding Fathers set forth with the Constitution”. It is unfortunate that we have to sift through this “garbage” to find out the truth. And promoting these “hit pieces” by endless discussions only serves as a misdirection from real issues facing our Country. It is amazing and disgusting to watch this classless effort to discredit certain persons by msm and others. It has gone way beyond the point of ridiculousness.

Remember in Obama’s, own words, he wants to “fundamentally transform America”. Do we want this? I don’t. We must know our American history and we must learn from it; otherwise, we are doomed.  In my opinion, instead of reading the “latest hit piece”, which is just more of the same, predictable, and, oh so, typically taken completely out of context and peppered with propaganda, people should be spending their time reading books about our Country's history and informative books about what is transpiring in the World around us, such as:

A Patriot's History of the United States: From Columbus's Great Discovery to the War on Terror

The Survivors Club: The Secrets and Science that Could Save Your Life

The Coming Insurrection by The Invisible Committee

The Real George Washington: The True Story of America's Most Indispensable Man

Many will agree with this, while others will not. Take this as my thoughts on the real issues facing our Country. We must spend our time wisely. Just my two cents.

I agree that this article makes Sarah look bad and  there is nothing wrong with promoting Alaska.  I will wait and see rather or not this is a hit job.  Some of the critisisms of the former Governor of Alaska have proven to be true.
We have people on this forum that love Sarah and those that dislike her.  Sarah although welcomed here is not the focus of this board as she is not the one most of us want as POTUS nothing personal she just isn't the one most of us want.
I have no opinion on her one way or the other.
